Yesterday I was minding my own business in the mining world farming skeletons when I noticed something odd. The space adjacent to me had become open and my poor skeletons started spontaneously bursting into flames! "What madness is this?!", I thought to myself. A moments thought and a few tests (placing blocks that would suddenly become unplaced from the very spot that I believed the culprit to be) were all it took to discover the root of my quandary. A player in "/v" or "Vanish" had nestled himself across from me believing I would enjoy the ghostly company.

"Please stop.", I typed blandly, unamused by the impish trickster.

No response...

I perform the test of block placement again, the block held strong. Victory against the dastardly specter! Now I may resume farming in peace... Or so I thought.

I look away for just a moment to return to the sight of an empty chamber. "Surely the mob grinder snatched them away from me, that must be it!" I was wrong... Three skeletons no sooner fell from the sky than burst into flames at the hands of my assailant! The block was gone, and the criminal was back.

"Look, I know you are there, please stop or I'll set the skeles on ya!"

He didn't stop... I proceeded to mine the block above him, allowing the skeletons to free-fire into his chamber. The skeletons did not react. Staring blankly I begin to question my sanity. Again I place a block and it stayed. My assailant has fled! Though I know he will soon return...

Thinking I should take a more proactive approach, I mine my way around to his bed of torment and suddenly... *WOOSH!* I'm falling now... down, down I go... My quick reflexes tell my to smash the shift key as it doubles my chances of a graceful roll! *SPLAT!* I'm alive... Barely... This is most definitely foul play.

The darkness around me is sickening. I could hardly see the blocks around me so I begin tossing down torches. My worst horrors are realized... The entire area below my skeleton farm within fifty square blocks had been mined to bedrock! This is truly deception to behold.

What are the actions to take when being harassed by a player in "/v"? I attempted to get my answers from the moderators who were on at the time, my pleas of help went unseen... I now ask you, players of the forums, what would you do if this was you? I am fairly new to the server and haven't the slightest clue of how to handle a situation like this.

True, but if you have no way of knowing the other player's name, how is the situation reported? "An invisible person is harassing me!" didn't work too well.

EDIT: Also, I don't believe he was trying to kill me. I just think he was playing a cruel joke that nearly resulted in my death.

 

I do have the coordinates. Though even if I put a name to this villain, I can't prove his crime on just that can I? What would the crime even be? His defense would be something along the lines of, "oh, I was just mining..." or anything of the simplistic nature seeing as he gets his jollies in a very simplistic manner.

Without screenshots, do I really have a case? What crime do I push against him? What is the punishment for something like this?

 

The only reason I came to the forums was to inquire what the severity of doing something like this is. Seeing that nothing can really happen to this guy it makes me wonder why everyone doesn't just buy the vanish perk and harass other players. Seeing as harassment would be breaking a rule, but if you do it in vanish it's not breaking a rule lol. At least that's how it sounds.
