Currently, the butcher is off in the main world. That being said, the price would have to be insanely high to even consider this. The more entities in the main world the more lag that is caused. I honestly would be worried about the side effect of so many animals.

 

Y'know, we could enable them in the aether. It'd make more sales for pilot apps.

 

Or, make captain finally useful and give them the ability to use these eggs.

 

Considering how lame horses are now, I say add in a random chance for an ocelot egg, a horse egg, or a wolf egg - and keep breeding off, of course - in the lucky voting system.

Having them available to buy from the server would end up badly, even at a high price.

I know of a few players that have cats, though they keep them very secret. According to a few I spoke to, when butcher was on, it would only affect loaded chunks and certain entities, so if you found a ocelot in an unloaded chunk and tamed it before the next butcher, butcher wouldn't affect it. I don't know if it has been changed or if these people still have cats but I just thought it was interesting.

 

As a very rare lucky voting prize maybe?

I recently saw an ocelot in the main world (I was unable to keep it still enough to tame it and it ran away).
I've noticed that the mining world butcher doesn't affect tamed animals, or tamed wolves anyway.

I'm not a pro at server lag and such but how much lag do you think this would really cause? When if you made them like 1000+ nstars and they were really rare. And would it cause lag server wide or just in the rendered chunks?

If I am going to pay 1k nstars for something I damn well better be able to protect it and not have it stolen like the whole horse debacle.
