Hello, I don't own a melon sword so I have no personal stake in this question...but: Cocoa: $1.20 per block place/break. Place/Breakspeed = Instant. Melon: $1.65 per block break. Breakspeed = ~.27 seconds. (Assuming MC wiki is correct) Aut0-harvesting cocoa takes about 1/6 or less as long as planting it. Assuming no Fly/speed and a decent set-up, that translates to ~0.31 s/cocoa bean (tested, multiple trials, low standard error) making cocoa speeds approximately equivalent to melon swording (Assuming no e-reps). Therefore the improvement in speed of a 2000 nstar item is 25%. Seems decently reasonable. That being said, timed trials indicate cocoa can make up to about 13k/hour and people report 12-15k/hour for melon swording (theoretical maximum is ~17k). A travesty, but nonetheless, melons provide a distinct advantage. HOWEVER!! Fly/speed (a $60 donation feature -- translating to about $360,000 ECD), can increase cocoa planting and harvesting speeds significantly. To the point where one can make upwards of 18k/hour. This makes Fly > MSword. MSword is worth ~1 million ECD. Suggestion: Increase melon prices to $2.30, simple to put them on par (or slightly above) cocoa farming.
$2.25 per block and $0.25 per slice maybe? That would mean that melon slices are actually equal to melon blocks. Though I personally wouldn't go to any more than $1.80 and $0.20 per slice.
Seeing as how cocoa beans already provide a similar monetary benefit...as do netherwarts and DONT require a 2000 nstar tool...I don't believe this causes inflation, but simply makes the 2000 nstar tool worthwhile. Which, to be fair, will probably increase nstar prices because as it stands mswords are 100% a waste of money if you have fly. And mostly a waste of money even if u don't. If you're going to make me pay 1.2M for a tool...at least make it worth buying!
It's not a waste. It's a constant 14-16k per hours for 0 effort. They way they stand now is just fine
From what I've seen, a melon sword makes around 10k, which is the same with cocoa beans. However, cocoa beans require more effort such as replanting and it's harder to farm them than it is with melons where you can simply click and farm rows and rows of melons. The main problem I have with this suggestion is that you're suggesting to raise prices for effortless work.
+1, although phys doesn't like farming as a whole, so it's unlikely. When Andrew was in charge farming was king, now not so much
