I'd like to see lower wool prices for sure, I buy around 4000 blocks a week and draining 8k on wool alone can be pretty tedious.

Then again, it takes money out of the economy, and everyone likes that...

You guys do know that sheep are not the only way to get wool right?

Is everyone saying the prices are too expensive? I remember when andrew was setting the prices for clay/wool and he asked for suggestions in chat. I think wool was very cheap before. So cheap that I wold overbuy at the spawnshop all the time. Now it is in line with all the other items where if you ar buying it three, then you know you are overpaying. If we are going to lower the prices on wool because they are too expensive, then let's just go through the entire spawnshop inventory.

While I may not like the prices myself, I understand the reason they are where they are and I don't think that lowering the price will help anything.

    Just my opinion.

I'm confused, you said you understand the reason they are where they are...what exactly is that reason?

    Greetings,

Items are overpriced in spawn for a reason. I think they are overpriced to urge players to trade with one another. I think they are overpriced to discourage shopping at spawn.

If they were priced competatively, they would be competing with the players and discourage player/player transactions.

If you can't find a good deal, don't have the time/drive/resources to gather the items yourself, and don;t mind paying a higher premium, then you can purchase the items directly from the spawnshop, no hassle.

It should be a last resort, not the first. The way the prices were before, I never even looked anywhere else since they were so affordable.

Again, just my opinion. I may not share the majority opinion, but I figured I would share it to show the other side.

Actually, that is the exact reason for the high prices. That and the fact that, those signs are unlimited, if they were lower you would never have to buy from players, since you have unlimited stock.

But unfortunately, the issue with wool is a bit different. First off, wool is nearly impossible to obtain. You can't make farms, and sheep are very rare in the mining world. Assuming sheep drop roughly on average 2 wool (1-3 possible) you'd need 32 sheep on average to get one stack of wool. Considering a lot of wool projects can take multiple stacks, getting wool from sheep is a lost cause/practically impossible/impractical.

Wool is used a good bit, it may seem more the other materials, but only because the only place is to really get it is the wool shop and if that one shop is affected, everyone suffers.

Anyway, back to the main issue.
The server price for wool (last I checked) was 40 cents. Wool at a dollar is 250% higher then the sever. But that doesn't really matter, since you really can't get wool any other way.

But there is a positive side to it. Making wool this expensive makes it become a money sink, which is good, because it takes money out of the server.

If your asking for a personal opinion, I think it could be 2 dollars a block, but no higher ever. Not even in large quantities.

Otherwise, I simply listed the ups and downs.
