Question about X-Ray Mod (not using, but avoiding problems)

    Hey Guys,

    I have recently read a few bans about x-ray mod (which I totally support banning for) that make me a little uneasy. I had a thought a couple days back about using silk touch to horde some diamond bricks until I can afford buying a fortune 3 pick to mine them all.

    This would suddenly grant me quite a few diamonds. Would this make me a suspect for xray modding? Its just a thought that I wanted an answer to, nothing I have done yet. I mine a lot, and enjoy it much more than pumpkin farming to get money, so its something that sounded fun.

    Don't worry, we would never ban a user simply for breaking all of their diamond ore that they mined using a silk touch. Mining a lot of diamonds in a short amount of time doesn't automatically get you banned. We are very careful and thorough with xray bans, so as long as you aren't using an xray mod there is nothing to worry about.

    I have a friend "FireMarsheilBill" (He is a hacker), who went on ECC to find no diamonds left, except deep in lava. So I don't think there will be very much X-Raying again (until the wild has a reset). Plus, who would wanna cheat on ECC? We all dream of a really fast easy way to get money, but that what auto-farming with contraptions is for. Lol. <3 ya ECC!

    P.S. He also brought to my attention, that the server doesn't check for original files. Maybe something to look into, is a special file just for ECC that has only the approved mods like texture mods in it? You could even zip it up and put a password lock on it, so people can't change it. And maybe the system would look for the locked file with the special name, and the server would be auto-programmed to put in the special password when accessing it. If you did that server-side and you changed the password every few days, so people would have to visit the website and download the "update". (Ad-fly! :D) I could help making it if ya wanted, I just don't know how code anything special for a server-side file browser. :p

    This is not possible.
    The server does not have access to clientside files, X-ray is not checked by the server, the server merely notifies the admin/supermods and they will decide whether you are Xraying or not (I am not going to tell you how they do it but it is a fair process and only REAL X-rayers will get banned)
