@Avowin cant you just lock all of his chest and add access for him to them? and email/contact him about this change. if he is an ig/rl friend i wouldent see any problem with this, since it will prevent others from accessing them if he do not coma back before janu the 4th?

or am i totally wrong about cases like this, i bet there is other aswell?

 

@alukolli that would be up to andrew for me to lock them for him, he's not an irl friend just the original town owner who doesn't really play so gave me access to all his stuff, and I've had town ownership for like 2 years from him, he's been on a few minutes like 2 months ago but only I've Accessed the chests, and I've opened all of them in the past week before this. Although not many know where it is and it's blocked off so I'll have to see

 

I goof'd bad. I am new to EC. I started playing today. I had the understanding that chests that were unprotected were free for the taking. So I spawned into /wild and I began walking and I took any valuble item out of any and every open chest I could. I took tons of stuff. Ores, cobble, armor, Eff V tools and swords, stacks of cookies. I ended up with nearly 9k in loot. Then I bought a plot in Eulerville. I never griefed into anywhere and I never took crops that weren't replanted.

I didn't know a loot ban was in place. I don't know what can be done to fix this but I'm an honest person and I sincerely apologize for this error. I fully understand it I am reset/banned etc.

This is part of the reason why we need more awareness of the temporary chest ban. If new players are getting banned for something like this, something needs to change. I think it wasn't planned well enough in advance... we should have waited a bit before resetting old LWC locks.

 

@andrewkm So, this is something i will not do but am curious as to how it will work out.. Say you see 200 nstars 500 lapis blocks and a chest full of ores, you take it, put it in a chest, store your cash in a sign, accept the punishment (unless an account wipe means fully back to builder account wipe) serve your 7 day temp ban, come back and collect everything you have taken and all your money back. Is it as simple as that?

im just as curious, i want to know what will happen to the people who took some of my friends stuff.

 

Andrew did not account wipe any of those who have recently made a ban appeal.

 

Just because that wasn't posted in the reply to their appeal doesn't mean it didn't happen. I think he said in the shoutbox that he actually did bal/inventory wipe them... or most of them.

 

This might have already been answered, but how do /owned items fall into play here?

I've come across a few of these on occasion in my towns, and wondered how they will be handled; notably, what is going to be done if the user is inactive?

 

Once the timeframe has passed, they can be taken by anyone - however, should the owner return one day, they can request their item back and it will need to be given back to the real owner.

Recently I've been viewing a lot of the complaints regarding LWCs, and they've all been left to Nicit. Andrew tagged Moderators for a reason - he wanted all of them, not just Nicit, to ban people. I personally think that any SuperMod or higher should be able to ban users for this, and don't see why @Nicit6 has to do them all.

 

I just feel like SuperMods should be able to ban these users, and use the Server Admin tag to let Nicit/Andrew/Phys know.
