Updated in Section VI of the wiki are the following rules (changes have been bolded and underlined) At the present time, this only applies to Nodus, but has been written that any client logged into our server that can be considered "hacked" is bannable. There is no excuse; whether you use it only for auto-fishing or just to make your graphics better, or just "to have it" whether you're using its features or not, it is not allowed here on ECC. If you're caught with it, you're banned. If you have it and haven't removed it yet, I strongly recommend you do so.

No, you can have optifine, just you can't have nodus. Sky was stating the many "excuses" there could be.
Any suggestions of other non-hacked clients from a mod+ we can use to replace some of the nodus features like fullbright, autofish, or the radar?
why is auto fishing still encouraged? auto farming is not possible (so be it due to lag issues) but why should auto fishing be allowed? was bad enough that NODUS was allowed to be used for the last 2 months. seems a bit cheap you can automate a way to generate income without having to interact with other players on the self acclaimed #1 major economy server.
I've been poking around the internet and I have found enough information to come to the conclusion that server operators cannot tell if you are using Nodus or not and they cannot block it. They would only know this if you explicitly told them or maybe if you inadvertently posted a screen shot on the forums.
Just to add onto this useful bit of information. Because of the client-server model it is currently impossible for a server to tell if you are using any type of "hacked" client. The only way for the administration team to tell if you are using a "hacked" client is based on your behavior. So if you are using Nodus for the optifine graphics and turn the other features off / don't use them, you will be fine.
That's like telling people "It's only against the law if you get caught." since Nodus is completely illegal now. :|
You can sneak around using Nodus if you really do please, but if anyone is to find out that you are using Nodus, you will have a ban very similar ban to using X-Ray, which as we know, isn't lenient in any way. Just because you can break a rule without being caught at first, doesn't mean you wont in the future.
I'm desperate to have my auto-fishing mod back. I've searched everywhere. I can't live with no auto-fishing mod...
Spoutcraft is allowed, it's merely a custom client made to provide a better way for plugins and client to interact. The client contains no hacks.
i really think any player who need a client mod or hack is a complete noob the fact you promote botting drops the reputation of this server dramaticly think about it you can auto fish its cool can i auto mine can i auto build auto farm i think i may make a bot that dose everything like honorhubby dose with wow and is run by a out side program not inside the client then what would you say to that its abosolutly and totally unprofessional to allow any sort of behaviour regardless of abilty to know or not im sorry if i sound harsh i love this server andrewkm dose a hell of a job running it just some things need to be adressed like for example use of any automated mods hacks and or softwhere infact im pretty sure you can scan ram for hack clients and or modified versions hten add a server code to say allow modded clients ture or false and if your client is not same hash as it should be then dont allow connection problem soved just MC is too lazy to do this but this would require a minecraft update for server and client and bukkit and so on
