Complaint:

I took a job provided by @OhMrsKittyKat to complete ladders on his, and @stoneironz Cocoa farm (BeanZilla), and to eventually hire people to plant it. We had a gentleman's agreement on the specifics (such as perms and who harvests and such). Long story short, I realized that the payment arrangement and work out put was just to imbalanced, so I decided that, despite finishing ladders, I would not continue with the planting aspect of the farm. Stone agreed with me that the work load was very high versus the pay, and both him and Kat were very nice about me resigning.

Herein lies the issue. I provided approx 310, of the 350, ladders built using just over 3 stacks of ladder each. It took me days and days to do it. It truly was a nightmare. Anyways, after talking to both Kat and Stone seperately, they agreed that they would speak to each other about compensating me for the work completed. Between the labor of paying people to place ladder, which was between 50-70 per completed ladder depending on the person, plus all the actual wood I had to grow and chop down, I am merely trying to recoup what I actually had to 'pay' into getting it completed.

Stone agreed that 20-25k was more than fair to repay me, and that he would personally offer 10k to me (since ohmrskittykat was the primary person i worked for). I have screenshots of Stone agreeing to pay me 10k, and of him saying ohmrskittykat would contribute also, after he spoke to him. I also have screens of Stone promising me he would pay the 10k (me asking if he promised, and him saying yeah).

I am not trying to get money on top of what I put into their farm. So basically the 12+ hours I put into it... I am not looking for money on that. Just money that I used hiring people (which was agreed upon), buying bonemeal, supplying all the ladder. That's all I am trying to get money back for.

I have asked very nicely over the last week, or more since, we all agreed I would quit, and neither have responded to me since Stone said he would talk to Kat. I have PMed both at least 7 or 8 times a piece about this, and they were on and actively posting in other chans and would not receive responses. Tonight I threatened to file a complaint, several times, without a response.

I have the screenshots of my conversation with stoneironz if they need to be posted. I didnt want it to come to this but it was the logical option.​

Evidence: I have the appropriate screenshots, if they're necessary I will post them ( not 100% sure how to post them, although I do know where they are found on my computer )

Additional Information: I have never filed a complaint before, and do not wish to make enemies, just trying to resolve this reasonably for all parties concerned.

Well just to comment on both stoneironz and OhMrsKittyKat posts... You both were very understanding of the fact that the work being done was much harder than it initially appeared. I apologized profusely, and you both said it was ok, and that you understood that it was a very labor intensive job. You two have paid me absolutely 0. That's why stoneironz was agreeing that the work was a lot, and that I deserve at least something in return. Furthermore, stoneironz clearly says he would compensate me 10k personally, in the screenshots.

 

revanrose6 I do not have screens of the original agreement, no. However, Kat, while we were discussing the agreement, said that he preferred a gentleman's agreement, and didnt want to do a contract. I liked that idea, so chose to go that route.

The original agreement is pretty much what they've said it is here in the thread. However, after completing the 310 ladders, when I talked to both of them, we all agreed that I was a naive in understanding how labor intensive working that large of a cocoa farm would be. That's partially the conversation you can see in the screenshots. These screens are of my conversation with Stone, after completion of the ladders. I had already expressed, to both parties, how hard the job ended up being. Kat actually tried negotiating with me, in order to get me to stay on the farm and continue with the planting of the farm. We just could not come to an agreement that we considered fair.

I did break the parameters of the initial agreement. I did, however, talk to both Kat and Stone throughly first, before deciding to opt out of the planting stage of the farm. They both agreed it was a lot of work, and Kat said he would talk to Stone before paying me the 20-25k i put into the farm. When I talked to Stone (I never talked to them together at any time toward the end of this whole ordeal) he was very empathetic to how much work it was for how little money the job was. That's where the screens come in. I told him, like I told Kat, that I was mrerely trying to recoup the money I had put into the farm. Kat had explained to me, that had I not done the work of placing the ladder, he was simply going to hire people and place ladders himself too, just like I did. So essentially he would have paid the same amount I did, because we talked about how much we should pay per ladder, and he concurred that 20-25k was totally accurate.

I am not trying to make any money on this, because I did 'quit' so I didnt find it very to request to make a profit, by asking them to pay over 25k. Even though it took me several hours a night for a week to finish the ladders, I only asked that they pay me back what I personally put into their farm. They both agreed it was totally fair, and were not upset about resigning. We're all adults, so I truly thought everything was just fine, because we were communicating very well, and jiving. I thought it was good to go, but I completed the ladders over a week ago. I've PMed both every night for a week with no responses. At no point had I said I was going to post a complaint, until my final PMs to both last night. I told them I hope I would not have to post a response, but here we are. I know they saw multiple PMs, because I chose to PM both when I saw them posting in various channels.

Basically we talked about this all at length. Everything I have said is 100% accurate. I merely want the money I spent on someone else's farm. That's it... No labor (for the ladder I personally placed)/No time factored in. That's why I thought everything was ok.

Anyways I am not sure what else to put. I hope There is sufficient evidence here, because they have something like 60,000 individual ladders placed in their cocoa farm, that is owned by them, that they paid absolute 0 for. This is why I think Kat didnt want to do a contract, because he knew how much work it was going to be, and knew he was getting it done for peanuts (although this is speculation, but without fly, you play that many ladders and tell me how hard/time consuming that becomes, then plant 17 dub chests of cocoa seeds....).
