We have Forum Gold (yellow sparkle) and Forum Lite (no color, no sparkle)... What about the complementary color to yellow - purple - for a Forum Purple option? (Purple is technically called Violet. A complementary color is the color on the opposite side of the color wheel.)
Because "Forum Purple" sounds odd, maybe make the forum feature something titled along the lines of "Forum Deluxe" or "Forum Premium," with two options below that title: Gold (Yellow) and Purple. Or, possibly call it "Forum Violet."
To get Forum Purple (or Violet), you either donate again (if you have Forum Gold), or just donate and get it (if you don't have Forum Gold). Or, if possible, have the option in your settings to change between gold and purple once a week/every two weeks/month (I am not sure if this is possible).
I know it's possible to get other colors... How possible or easy on ECC's xenforo setup, I have no clue. :/ But based on my research, Xenforo does have ways to use different colors, and even different types of sparkles.
On the topic of colors being used already and/or confusions, I do not know how much it matters... Yellow is used in-game for Aether and has no relation to Forum Gold, so I do not see why purple (Survival Games / PVP / Nether) would be an issue. As well, the sparkles make it stand out and different.
Developer color (in-game) is actually and technically a blue (see Blue on first color wheel, Tones row) and not a purple, nor is purple (such as the in-game, deep purple, or Violet on the first color wheel) used on the forum.

I would honestly prefer having a sparkly blue-green, but that's just my opinion. I'd like to see the option of being able to choose any color for a forum premium, or whatever it might be called.

I considered making the suggestion on allowing color of choice, but all reds and blues probably wouldn't be allowed due to Staff rank colors. :/ -
Isn't it possible that andrew could add a forum title to all moderators+ that would distinguish them from the rest of us? For example he could set up something like this;

Most forums can do that, so I am sure Xenforo can, too. People may still think someone is Staff if they have Staff blue or reds, though, which is why those colors are even unavailable in-game with Nickname+.
I personally think having darker and even lighter blues available would be alright, but red is kind of just...red, then it goes pink or dark red (which is Owner color). -
I agree with you that it may be somewhat confusing, however we have moderators with gold names on the forums as of right now which to me is just as confusing as having other colors.

Anything above forum gold sounds good to me. The yellow twinkly names are obnoxious, this would get rid of those and still look cool. The problem, though, is what else you would get out of it. Besides the custom tag thing and an extra metal, there doesn't seem to be any visible upgrade in status. But +1 anyways #yolo
