Should I reopen Lancaster?​

So I've been approached by multiple players recently with the idea that I should re-open Lancaster. For those who are unfamiliar, Lancaster was one of the most active cities on ECC until it got to the point where it overwhelmed me, and I neglected it until it sort of wound down. It includes nine towns owned by me personally, one of which is a large town farm, as well maybe another ten towns nearby owned by other players. Here is a picture of downtown Lancaster as it appears today:

I'm not at all against the idea of reopening any or all of Lancaster, Southcaster, Eastcaster, Westcaster and Aberdeen -- I'm just very against the idea of running them again. I would be willing to entertain reopening the whole city if I could find active, responsible, positive co-mayors. Further, I would probably be willing to allow potential co-mayors to keep most of the income they generated by being co-mayors, just to see the old city active again.

So -- anyone and everyone who would be interested in assisting with the reopening of one of the most active cities in ECC history, please post on this thread. I know from experience that it's overwhelming for one person, so let's see how much interest there is.

I'm also going to tag a few players who have either expressed an interest in the past, or have a vested interest. Your thoughts? (thoughts of others are welcome, too)

Well, I'm definitely convinced. Let me get a few things together, and plan a little bit. What I would like to do is create a basic set of policies and prices, and a "headquarters" of sorts for the mayors, and then select a team of Mayors -- maybe just for Lancaster and Southcaster to start with, to see how things go -- and then give the new Mayors the maximum freedom possible. Watch this space for announcements. :)

 

So I've been working on the town all evening. I said I wanted to have a "headquarters" for the new Mayors.... so I built it. (this is where my priorities lie, and why I need other players to run the city so I can just build).

Anyway, so I replaced the old Portal Building with the new Lancaster City Hall. The Portal Building never really seemed to make it into too many pictures. It was very impressive for the little town Lancaster used to be, but the city just sort of grew up around it. But I found one -- the Portal Building is the red one in this picture (this picture is from a MUCH earlier and smaller Lancaster). So called because it has six town-town portals in it:


Anyway... the portals are still there, but I may have gone a bit overbaoard with the new City Hall, because I turned the red building above into this:


But the portals are still there. :)


I think it looks a lot brighter and more open. Progress!

 

So let me seek opinions. These two pictures are the present state of the Lancaster Mall, which for an extended period of time was the most active player-owned shopping center on ECC. It's a bit run down now:


But we seriously made a go of it for six months or more, which is longer than any other player mall in recent years. With the caveat that you can't really charge more in rent than $1000/month (or at least I didn't), is there anyone who would have interest in being the mayor in charge of the Mall?

Note: the roof of the mall can be accessed by stairs from Lancaster Square. I always intended to put houses up there. The Mall mayor could have responsibility for that, too.
