I think we should have 6 maps. 2,3 and 4 are played a lot so naturally that includes kitters, it might be beneficial if we had some extra arena's for people to have fun with their friends without having kitters. I know that arena's 5,6,7 and 8 are used for this purpose at the moment. I suggest we remove arena's 1 and 5, then substituting arena 6 and 8 with different, smaller, maps.

 

And where might these people be?

 

Since there are 5 maps that have over 50 votes to be removed, perhaps we can remove those 5 and add a brand new SG map that is more in the lines of arenas such as 2, 3, and 4. Maybe even an arena that would really find boats useful (since none of 2, 3, or 4 require much boating). Just a suggestion.

 

They are users of all ranks who like this map. Mostly builders though.

I want to see the glass tube removed from arena 2 as well. I know that it can be used to bow camp in deathmatch, as I have been stalled out there for like 5 minutes. If I enter the tube.... the other person can just shoot downward at the entrance, giving them a huge advantage. I need to shoot upwards... making it very difficult for me to win. And, the ladder shouldn't be removed in my opinion. It offers one of the best chest routes, and not all of us have kits.

 

Most people are followers and see that one person dislikes an arena, so they feel compelled to dislike it as well. Most people don't see the real beauty in Arena 1. It is quite sad that people who barely sg are voting against good maps.

 

I actually agree with you, Arena 1 is a well balanced map, a real survival games you may say. For me, The arenas from 5-8 can cause problems with some users as they are large and have some chests. I would assume most new users are familiar with SG 1 if they play SG regularly, and not very familiar with 5-8 (I can be wrong, correct me if I am).

I like SG1 - the demographics it get and the terrain put less of an emphasis on PvP and kits, more on trying to survive.

 

On the other hand surviving is a little harder if there is very few food on the map. :/

Could someone please tell me a single benefit of having removed these arenas?

Because I have asked why and have heard everything from it deters new players to it being unpopular, and I'm literally dumbfounded as to how either of these things would justify they being removed from the server. Personally, I loved each of these maps, and was quite saddened to see them removed.

Could anyone please provide me with a reasonable answer?

(And I understand if they're not your favorites, but why remove them at all?)

 

Recently sg has been much less inactive. It was rare for a game to have 8+ players and it was rare for more than two games to be happening at one time. The reason they were removed was so that there were fewer more active games than more inactive games.
