Brief Description: "Hug a Wither" Legendary Challenge not working

Instructions: I spawned withers on my island (using my 3 wither spawn eggs, and stood withing 10 blocks of each wither, but the "Hug a Wither" challenge would not complete.

How many times did you recreate this?: three different times with a logout and login each time

Result: Error message: You are missing 1 X wither. You must be standing within 10 blocks of all required items.

Expected Result: Challenge completion

Evidence:

The Ghast challenge worked when I spawned a ghast on my island, but the wither challenge did not. I wasted three wither spawn eggs because with each logout, the wither despawned and I would spawn a new one.

I spawned a wither, but now I find all my challenges were reset back to level 2. Why? I wasted three wither heads

UPDATE: After redoing two Competent challenges, I was instantly back to the legendary challenges, but it shows the ghast challenge is undone and the wither challenge is, of course, undone, because I couldn't get to the challenge while at the Competent level again, for some reason. May I have a ghast spawn egg back, please? I can wither skelly hunt for three more heads, so I am not so worried about that.
