Hi ECC,
I have been trying to use Squid and then this keeps poping up and i have no idea what to do.

 

Your second error message shows where the issue is: Your graphics drivers and Windows 10.

Personally, if you can reproduce the bug and click "Fix The Problem" when the dialogue box pops up, that will guide you through updating the drivers. Else, I'd suggest looking on the internet for a tutorial on updating your drivers.

 

Does this only happen on SquidHQ or does it also happen in the regular launcher?

ok so i get a message saying that there is a virus detected are you saying @andrewkm that it is a fake message or that it really might have a virus

 

It's a false positive. Don't worry about it.

 

This issue is ONLY when I use squid to try to open MC

Then when I do go to "update driver" I get a unknown error when downloading the new driver software

 

Let me add that technically every executable file can potentially host viruses (and non even just executables), therefore very paranoid AVs would identify almost any .exe file as a virus just in case, unless instructed otherwise.
As this is not a virus, just ignore the message and instruct your AV to never bother you again about that particular file.

Here is how to fix it: Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced(tab)->Environment Variables->System

Code:

Variables->New:
Variable name: _JAVA_OPTIONS
Variable value: -Xmx512M
Variable name: Path
Variable value: ;C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin;F:\JDK\bin;

Change this to your appropriate path.

I personally havent got a Windows so i cannot investigate further.

It also sounds like a 32bit and 64bit java issue.
You sure you have the correct one installed?

 

When I tried to run this my antivirus had a MAJOR meltdown. It came up with w32.malware.gen. After more searching I discovered that it is most likely a false/positive. I also use malwarebytes and it didn't pick up on anything. I'm trying to convince my antivirus that it's all good but am meeting with major resistance!:eek:

 

I have been getting rumors from my friends that SquidHQ is illegal. Is this true? Also, one rumor they have is that it's against the EULA. Is it technically against the EULA's rules or is it just bypassing blacklist? I have always come to believe that it was illegally made but it is legal to use. Is this true too?
