I mean how did the staff choose the new staff yesterday? What do you look for in choosing the new staff members? Examples: Randomly (I know this doesn't happen), based on correct application answers, based on attitude during staff applications, etc.

What is the best part, in your honest opinion, about being a staff member? Aside from the usual "I can help others".

 

I might be able to answer this one a bit better than most of the staff can:

When the server first opened, all there was was Andrew really. Slowly, new staff members came along. Names I can remember:
Mission001 (Mod)
jshi895 (Mod)
MoofinK (Supermod) (She's on staff again now, the rest of these names have pretty much disappeared from the server completely.)
Starbolt79 (Supermod)
Edit: Don't know how I forgot him: Michealwm (Supermod)

There were a few others I cannot remember off the top of my head, all of which were normal mods I believe. (There was no Game Admin rank back then. In fact, Game Admin is a relatively new rank, along with Server Admin.) It also kind of depends on how far back you really mean. Staff picks were slow then, (Usually only one was picked at a time and there was no application process, Andrew hand picked them himself.) but we still had a few more even by the next month: People like Larsphee and myself.

If you're talking more like just the first year in general (2011), then names like Chuggz, LostAlaskan89, Kuke, (The very same Kuke from today.) SynWannaBe(?), and many, many others would also come up.


This is all off the top of my head, there are so many people I missed. It was nearly two and a half years ago now. lol.

 

I always used to enjoy being "in the know". xD

 

@allstaff what are your views on users who constantly break the rules and make ecc a bad place to be, and they keep getting away with it.

 

To the mods in school: How do you fit in atleast 4 hours of ECC per day during school?

 

Id say probably staff chat. (You probably know), but aside from that, the experience of knowing that youn are the person who can help out with any user

 

I have a free period that i can use for that during school. Idk about other mods:p

 

My question does not fall under that.

 

I have school until 2:30 pm, i then dedicate a hour to homework, and a hour for friends, thats until 4:30, after that im normally good to play, and play up to midnight.

For me honestly it is only being able to help the community, its the only reason I am still a moderator, and the reason I will continue to be a moderator.

I remember compassing around spawn. xD

 

Using /j to get everywhere around spawn and waiting for my chair to be made :p

 

Honestly, that question is a bit hard for me to answer, as the reason I first put my name forward was solely to help others. Since then, I have found that I love being a part of the family that is the staff team, and also being more integral in the community.

I never expected to find myself so drawn to ECC, but now that i'm staff, its where I like to volunteer and pass some time with an amazing (and somewhat bizarre) group of people!

 

I sat there for ten minutes in shock, them I went and read all staff forum threads.
