Most of the supposed "x-ray mines" you are hitting are simply users who have gathered enough money to purchase an Efficiency 7 Pickaxe which insta-breaks stone, therefore making it rather simple and easy to make these immense tunnels. I do believe that the staff team does check up on xray miners on the daily, and already have a list of users who are suspect. I can understand how it is frustrating to to /wild and mine for hours only to find a little supply of precious ores, but most of miners nowadays use an eff7 which clearly gives the advantage over a regular pickaxe. I suggest you advertise in trade chat to use this tool so you too can benefit from this item like the majority of miners do.

 

The lack of ore is the reason we have a mining reset every month. The mining world is 5000x5000, it isnt that hard to find a spot where no one has mined.

 

Most of the tunnels you are hitting are eff 7's or people who go to the edge and do a 2x1 all the way across. By doing either of these actions people get a lot of ore. It's first come first serve. It's not incredibly hard to find an area that no one has mined in you just have to look.

 

honestly, with the amount of eff7 pickaxes in circulation the measly amount of xrayers have like zero effect on you. I've only seen a handful of xray tunnels myself. And I'm a really bored miner, so my tunnels look vaguely like xray tunnels as well. (I just mine in random directions, it's more fun that way.)
Only a handful of xray tunnels are obvious, and even then, it might just be coincidental. Banning innocent people is way worse.

 

x-ray miners have little to no effect due to all the eff7s as kuk said. You say that there are many x-ray miners but they are mainly eff7 miners.

 

X-rayers are not common, and if caught they should be punished. I'm saying the mining world is big, and if you run into an "xray mine" tell a mod and /wild to find a new spot to mine, or mine the opposite direction the "xray mine" is going.

 

E7's strip the mining world in an order of magnitude faster than an xray miner can. I'm not saying it's not an issue, but for "taking ores from others", that isn't the reason why xray is illegal.

 

The problem is that it's practically impossible to prove xray without seeing them do it. Like I said in an earlier post, banning an innocent is way worse than missing an xrayer.

All i'm saying is that with all the eff7's its very hard to tell if people are using x-ray.

 

They are dismissing your concerns as rubbish because you joined not even a month ago. Meaning that they have more experience with this touchy topic

 

Just to clarify, I have been known to "blindly" ignore all ores (except emerald :D) before, especially when I run the tunnel each direction from the mining spawn to make it easier and quicker for new players to get to the outside edges.
I do NOT use any cheats. I DO use all server resources available to me to make this easier for myself.
Our staff is constantly watching for hacks and do ban for x-ray mining. The best solution is to simply forum pm a couple of our moderators the coords you suspect and let them deal with it from there.

 

I mean, how would you react if a complaint was posted on you by someone overzealously going after anything that looked wrong with your mines?

Sure, you can say you don't X-Ray, but who wouldn't say the same?

I've seen some of these tunnels and they're not EFF7 tunnels. This is like... Finding diamond ore, turning right for 3 blocks and finding more diamond blocks, then backing out back to the main tunnel.

But a lot of the time, these "obvious" xray tunnels are too old and have no logs.
