This is a continuation of a long gone thread (Found Here: http://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/you-know-you-play-too-much-when.32778/page-2) (Please Follow the Rules if you look at this post) (There is to be no "necroing" of threads, which includes the following criteria: Bumping a thread that has not been posted on in over 2 weeks, unless the content of the thread has become relevant to be opened for discussion again. Bumping a thread that has not been posted on in over a week in order to flame, troll, or cause a problem.) Mainly this) So this thread was explaining how users at school played to much and teachers restricted access.. I thought it was both funny and interesting! Post what your school restricts and blocks and some users even mentioned how they bypassed that such as how JamieSinn logged into his schools administrator account and unblocked all minecraft things but almost got suspended for 5 days.. My school is not to strict considering teachers have a box system where if they see you do something wrong they put a check in your box and after three checks you lose your laptop for a week.. Overall you can game (mine craft) go in Facebook.. Forums and all that stuff.. If some teachers see you, you get a cdck but with others they're like please don't go in that again.. I personally do my Espn fantasy games during study hall.. Kids also watch some pretty innapropriate stuff yet no one gets in trouble.. They really just don't care.. I've got it pretty easy.. But some people... Not so much..
I didn't just /log in/, but basically, what I did is remote control the server, and force remove port blocking on 25565 for the entire incoming and outgoing traffic. The actual process is /less/ than school appropriate. But yes, I did do this. No, I didn't get suspended or even close it it, I have a second school account which I do this all from, so no one knows its me.
My school is very trusting of the students not to abuse our "Bring your Tech" rule. Sadly, students constantly abuse this responsibility, and although I would hate it personally, I think they should stop letting students use phones in school. School isn't playing time, it's work time. If you don't have time to play at home, then that's rough.
Depends what you consider blocking...if you consider having a proxy that u use on school internet bad, the idk. Let's me access youtube :3
It may be in your best interests to use a VPN search engine (hotspot shield) or set up a proxy server no need for allowing things through blocked ports
Our school district blocks anything that's considered a "game", illicit activities, instant chats, etc... most of my friends just bypass the network blocks to play games though xD
My school blocks any type of wiki, youtube, social media sites like facebook, forums, and basically anything good. (But they dont block these forums )
Everything is blocked at my school... We dont even have school laptops and we aren't allowed to use our phones... Next year we are getting laptops though!
I've had friends take in their laptops and play Team Fortress 2 in the middle of lectures before. My district doesn't block anything unless it's potentially dangerous. They do have canvas rider blocked which really ticks me off though I was able to bypass it once last year but I can't remember how
If you can download an app on your phone called "opera mini" (don't know your phone ), it allows you to use any website, but it's a lot slower.
basically, to use flash on iOS devices, browsers like oprah, puffin, etc. "connect" your ipad to a computer, which then searches the web for you. so what you're basically doing is using a proxy to get past the security.
