Hey, So i understand the whole /own is good as it allows staff to keep track of items throughout ecc. Recently i have been auctioning all my items away but have come across and issue. That issue is any item that has once been /owned by a player can not be auctioned at all. even if i remove myself from the /own it still wont allow me to auction the item as it still has a Unique Item ID number. i would like to see a way around this and if possible a way to remove that number so we can auction them. or even better just make it so you are allowed to auction those items as long as there is no /own currently placed on the item being auctioned. Please leave comments onto what you think about this , i believe it would be a successful minor adjustment that would make selling things just that bit easier. - Nix
Allowing the removal of ID #'s is a terrible idea that should never happen. I don't see an issue with allowing owned items to be auctioned however, they can still track them and everything if there's an issue.
thankyou for your feed back yes my main problem was not being able to auction items. not the ID its self. i agree with what you are saying
If it isn't possible to auction owned items, then I wouldn't mind this. @Nicit6 - how would the removal of /own be a bad idea? I'm probably extremely ignorant but I'm also fairly curious.
Player A dies with a star took Player B picks up said star tool Player B removed the id which player A attempts to use to track where said star tool could have gone Player B gets free star tool, sells it and loses all the $ in lotto Player A quits Won't end well
I'd assume you'd have to be owner of the tool to remove the ID in the first place. Otherwise it'd be silly But overall, the ID's should stay on, but +1 to being able to auction tools with an ID. Only issue is that you'd be selling a tool with an ownership on, so you'd have to remove yourself as owner before you auction it. (If it's possible for auction plugin to check this).
If ID's can be removed it's extremely easy to hide things. It also can invalidate contracts as this would allow the ID number of a tool to be changed. It's all in all terrible and counterproductive.
I believe that Jamie has stated several times that an items ID will never be removable, and they will never consider a way to make it removable. (Just thought I'd clear that up) I do like the idea of auctioning things with an id, but auctioning an /owned item would be against the rules (you'd be selling an owned item to a person who would have no idea it was owned)
Item lore is displayed in auctions by the hover-over, so you would be able to see it's owned by someone else.
