Minecraft Name:Gernen
Suggestion:Add a /help section called chat including on how to join the basic chat channels (local, global, trade, auction) and the purpose of each one of them. There could also be a link to the wiki rules for said channels.
Reason:There are many new people that are confused on how to use the chat system, and may think that they are ignored, which leaves a negative impression to the server. An easy command displaying how to communicate with other players, which is a big part of EcoCityCraft would really help. We teach them how to make money, why not how to use chat correctly?
Any Other Information:N/A
Link To This Plugin:N/A
To Clarify what I mean by a help section:
Help Sections are stated there, I say we add /help chat.

Staff members are not able to teach players how to make money via in-game PM's easily so there is a /help chapter for that. Staff members are able to teach players how use different basic chat channels easily, a extra /help chapter might mean even more stuff for new players to read in which they may not want to. If basic chat channels are to be added, why not add all the rules and the consequences and explanation for each and every single rule in a help chapter since they are more important than basic chat channels? There is already so many help chapters that I can confirm at least 90% of the new builders never read through each and every single one of them. This is just my opinion.

If there was a help channel, it would need to be user-run, like the town channel named "Help." Staff already has too many channels to Moderate, and another would just push it past the limit of logical.
Staff are always willing to help, too - ask in local spawn, Global, PM us; we can be busy and therefore "slow" at responding, but we usually do. Non-Staff can certainly help as well, rather than ignoring newer users because they are "a low rank and untrustworthy."
I would be all for a help channel if Staff are absolutely not required to be in it and help - as a non-Staff user, though, I would quite like to have it. -
I believe you misunderstood the point of my suggestion, there is the /help command which allows you to pick from several sections. I suggest a new section is implemented, where it lists the basic channels and their uses, not a channel where staff are in and answer questions.

Ah... That makes a lot more sense. I thought we had a help chapter for chat channels already, though? Unless they were simply listed in another chapter and/or taken out... -

Of we can send the builder / Rez through the tutorial and let them learn about 90% of things on the server there
Or is there still a tutorial with new spawn ?

+1, I have seen many people not knowing how to switch channels, the /help should also include that tr and auc are strictly for selling items and bidding only, not for chat so the new players can no where to put their adverts.

This should be implemented but it might be a lot simpler if we made it so that a user would do /help chat and be confronted with a list of chats and a brief description of each. As well, the section would have a link to the wiki page or tutorial page that details chat commands and uses better. Otherwise +1

Guess there wouldn't be a way to have a popup like /buy but each box does a /help topic
So you would have like chat rules money pvp sg
Then sub catagories related to thoes

I think it's a fairly good idea. It's easy to teach people how to use channels and they end up learning wen they are corrected for using the wrong one but adding this won't do any harm. Plus, if you don't want to read it you can always skip it and avoid using "/help chat" which brings me to add (sorry, I have to): deathtoll1 that's the biggest fallacy I've seen in these forums so far ("Hasty generalization" which by its definition matches your reasoning although the name doesn't seem to)

deathtoll1 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Trust me, ask around all the new builders on the server, see if more than 50% use all of the /help chapters.

deathtoll1 of course they don't. But adding one more won't do any harm since you have to choose which /help you want.
You can just go and do /help chat if you need it. You said it would be adding one more thing you have to read which is not entirely true since it's not obligatory. You can choose which /help you need depending on your personal needs.
In my case I didn't need to know anything about chat because it was fairly obvious once I noticed there was more than one and once I looked at the tags in each colored chat ([Trade], [Global], [Local], etc) but there a surely people that might need the help.
Adding one more section would also be helpful for more shy people or less involved people that don't go and announce themselves in the chat right away but would rather start playing on their own and figure things out on their own. With this I mean people that won't be asking around for help for every thing they may have a doubt of and would rather just go and read it in the /help section.
What I was pointing out is that you exaggerated by saying something like (i'm not going to quote because i'm too lazy to do that right now): if you add the /help chat why not add all of the rules instead which are more important.
This would be a mistake because the rules tell you what to and what not to do, what's not allowed and what's allowed. While the /help section helps you find your way through the server and teach you how to do stuff, not what's permissible and what not. -

I think this is a good idea. Why not write out what you think should be written, whilst taking into account everyone's suggestions?
Then it may be easier to implement should andrew think it makes sense!-
