Thread Title: Add custom biomes to the mining world to make it more fun. Minecraft Name: OlympiansAreGods Suggestion: To add custom biomes to the mining world to make it more fun, for example; A pumpkin tree biome or a snow desert. Reason: It will make more people wanna go out into the mining world to take a look at the stunning custom biomes. And also increase the amount of people mining in the mining world, not in legacy and Rising. Other Information: It wouldn't be too hard to implement I don't think. Link to this plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Most likely custom @JamieSinn with a couple builders to create the biomes. Please don't lock this, if you can't/don't want to do it. I'm quite sure some of the dev's of ECC (Not official ECC ones) would do it. Heck I'll even try and do it xD
Only if we massively increase the size of the world, or maybe even make resets weekly rather than monthly. I'd love to see this, as I know that we've both seen some pretty unique mining biomes elsewhere and I personally like adding biomes. But it would take a lot of work, and it probably won't come before the hub is fully functional.
Sure, if you can, detail if it's just a top layer change, or a full generation change for the ores/etc
@JamieSinn Well the first 3 layers of the ground, so like a dead tree biome, With coarse dirt, podzol, and custom made trees with no leaves on them, and then a blossom tree biome, with pink wool as the leafs and spruce wood as the wood. I'll make a few examples in the next 1-3 days to show you what I mean
Spooky forest biome: Blossom tree biome: Giant flower biome: Abandoned city biome: (Make it out of stone based materials, a few pieces of quartz, nothing expensive)
Also maybe we could have loot cchests? Plugin located here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/phatloots/ It allows admins to set loot for a chest, so when the player clicks on the chest, it gives the player some loot then disappears. We could have loot chest classes like: Common; Loot found in the chest is like 1 piece of redstone dust, 64 wood, some food; then uncommon, a few ores, maybe some mineral blocks, then rare, with good loot in them, then legendary which are rare to find and have like a max pick in them.
worldpainter with custom bo2 objects. No need to overcomplicate it by writing your own world generator. TerrainControl is also a viable option. (albeit a bit slow to generate large worlds, it would have to be done on a separate server instance and copied over to the server to make it viable)
I am not sure the abandoned city biome would be necessary - I - and many others have towns that need cleared and with the exception of a couple of outstanding players, nobody seems to even care.
No - then people would start tearing apart rising and legacy for stuff not found there - sand, lots of dirt, etc.
