Minecraft Name: xX3PICREBELXx Suggestion: Change what defines as flame-baiting Reason: Let me ask you a quick question; How do all SG related arguments start? The answer is they start with either hackusations(Which have already been made illegal which is the correct thing to do), the other way they start is via comments like this directed to others on the server. By making this illegal I imagine the amount of toxicity will stop in SG, toxicity is one of the main reasons many users including myself have taken a long hiatus from SG as people being nasty to each other is far too common for me to be able to enjoy myself. Any Other Information: n/a Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: n/a
Although I appreciate the complement, I would much rather you +1'd the suggestion because you thought it would be good for ECC. Thank you for the feedback anyway, all feedback is appreciated
I like this idea. I've come around on whether what NR said was good or not and I've realized that this is really why we have all this toxicity. +23. (Get it? Because X is 10? Haha, roman numerals are fun...)
I think that in general people need to be better spirited all over ecc. But due to the competitive nature of sg I believe it is impossible and unreasonable to enforce any and all trash talk. And personally I think being unable to take that kind of thing in stride as a part of competing is being a poor sport. But I respect that you feel it was offensive. The real hang up is I just dont think it is enforceable. Along the same line as not being able to enforce no spoilers. People who spoil and people who trash talk are undoubtedly being jerks a lot of the time but you know like andrew said you cant arrest people for farting in the elevator. Probably easiest to just realize people who trash talk a lot are terribly insecure and thats why they do it.
Just because you make someone illegal doesnt mean it will stop, Look at fastbreakers, xrays, hackusators, all still exist and in decent numbers, But i think its a step in the right direction, How are hackusations dealt with differently compared to flamebaiting? Are they just both warnable via /mail until its like so many complaints against them? xD Im not sure the rules on this these days. tl:dr: +1
Accusing users of hacking is a serious offense as it has the potential to severely tarnish a player's reputation on the server. Saying "Lmao get rekt m8 trolololol" is just playground taunting. If you can't handle petty raillery, then you're the issue. -1
I don't think we really need to change the rules, we just need to get it out of global. Admittedly changing the rules is probably the easiest way to aim for that, but it ultimately won't be effective, and a different solution would need to be implemented to actually accomplish the goal.
I have absolutely no idea what you're suggesting, else than pointing out the obvious problems of flamebait. Mind telling us your intentions with this suggestion?
