Yeah, this will probably need some sort of extra codeing / plugin. I guess kuke or KHobbits could make one.

 

I would like this to happen, lava can be a real pain to deal with when clearing a large amount of it. If sponges could have the dual use of clearing lava and water it'd make them a lot more useful. I like the suggestion, +1

A lava-clearing sponge would be great, though... Personally I'd rather make it all into obsidian, for some money. :b

Yes, and no. The server itself would have to have a mod, and the clients too.

I actually suggested we bring back our old nether fighting plugin, and to do that I made a custom plugin that had a similar effect.
The only problem is the event that was used, was both the WorldGuard blockupdate event, and the default Minecraft block place event. The only problem is that andrew disabled the WG event for performance, thus making it much harder to do inside of world guarded regions.

I personally think this is more of a minecraft suggestion for mojang, not for ECC.

I may just create a little plugin to test this.

Not at all, that would require a mod on client and server side.

 

I like this idea, however, I believe that this should only be acquired with Pyro+ so it doesn't effect natural gameplay (Falls in lava, places lava sponge, survives).

 

Lets put this in perspective. You are skydiving, and you start to come near a volcano. You happen to have a sponge in your hand, would you use it? I, think not :p. However, I would not like to disregard the idea. There has to be a better way for Pyro users to clear lava. The one thing I do disagree with is that it is a sponge, since a sponge, well..... can't really absorb lava.

 

Yes to the idea, no to the red sponge. I know that andrew only likes to use regular minecraft blocks with no additions.

 

Andrew has to use normal minecraft blocks or else all the players wold have to get mods.

 

I have to say, This is one of the better ideas I've heard. maybe the block instead of sponge should be a... hm a... uh, Soulsand? No, um i say it should be sponge, there's really nothing else. aslo it should be added to kit fire or kit lava or kit pyro, what ever it is...
