Minecraft Name: Assajj_Ventress
Suggestion: When somone files there contract on the forum for mayor and is approved they are sent a modded golden shovel or... axe in there inventory and sent out into the wild, they find a 200x200 piece of land or... minimum 100x100 I believe and they stand on the first corner and click the ground FACING WERE THE NEXT SIGN WOULD BE, if there is a town nearby to close, it would pop up and say "Land owned please find free land", they would then have to find another area, once a perfect area is found they stand and click the ground facing the second post destination and if free it would say "land claimed by ______ Congratulations on mayor/president, 85000 has been removed from your balance and a mod has been alerted"
Reason: This saves time from mods having to fly out to the area and do the rg themselves and also saves the player time from waiting for the application to be processed, this way if you dont have the money.... your not getting the land, and if you click land that is allready taken it removes idk... 8k and a messages tells you you have been charged... all in all it saves time.
Any Other Information: I have used this mod on another server just to test it out, it creates a box around a certain area and only you can build in it unless rg rights are given, IT is very fast and there is oh wait for it 0% LAG!!!! :p
Link To This Plugin: I believe it is one of the world Guard plugins and it is very very usefull and there is no lag what so ever

The system we have now is working fine. Why fix something thats not broken?

Just some questions.
Does this mean someone gets mayor when they fill out an app and get a shovel... without marking their town first?
Can the shovel be traded or given to someone else? What happens then?
What of the town they wanted to make was close to antoher town and they got that person's permission? -

just to clear something up. Gameadmins don't fly out to go set a town, they have /tppos. Which would send them to the cords set in your town app.
I also dont know how i feel about this suggestion. It would be nice to automatically get our towns, but then again mistakes can happen quite often. Plus i feel it would be better for the server if it was applications. If it was applications it would have proof on the forums of the owner allowing the town to be placed next to another town.
-1/+1 i haven't decided yet. -
no you get sent the shovel you use it and then it breaks end of story, and no you dont get mayor until you pay

I just don't get it. Sorry.
Right now, it is so much simpler and safer than what you are suggesting. I don't see a reason to change it.-

Would this somehow log to the forums? Or would rank applications just resemble the resident and tycoon+ applications? What if their inventory is full? How would the system know what size town you want?
In my opinion the system we have now is fine. This may save time over the current system, but the current system is simple, and proven to work.
If this plugin were to stop working for some reason, it would be very very bad as ranks and towns are central to the concept of ECC.
Let's not go with some new thing when we have a simple method that is proven to work. -
1 - The plugin is very common and not known to fail
2 - if you are dumb enough to send in the application for the tool with a full inventory you deserve to lose an item
3 - it would not effect applications you would only get the tool once you fill it out -
But applications aren't done instantly - it could be a few hours (and technically up to 7 days) before it would be done, is someone supposed to make sure their inventory is never full until that happens. -

-1 this is useless
-
Its not useless its just the way our forum is set up to handle the town applications is hindering any suggestion that I make and making it seem useless because of what we allready have, look up town protection marking with world guard on youtube it is done by the user making the shovel themselves it does not necessarily have to be GIVEN to them, they just have to be allowed a 1 time usage of the effect of the mod.

This would cause more trouble than what its worth. The current system is 100% fine, and reliable.

deathtoll1 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️It is a whole new plugin by itself, also it doesn't claim from Y :0 - 256 Unless you right click it from there to the top, a minimum of 100 x 100 and maximum of 200 x 200 would mean that they have to set the minimum blocks, a player could easily abuse this by claiming 4 different 50 x 50 areas, furthermore the current system is fine.

I would like a link to this plugin please.
-
World Guard is the plugin used to protect towns, not to create them the ought a second party. The forums and in game play or completely different and need to be done manually.

A couple questions here.
One, does this mean the system would have to count how many towns you've made previously so you get charged the right amount? i.e.: Not every town is 85k. How would this work for the players who have already purchased towns? How would, lets say I, get charged the 480k I need to be for town 7 instead of 85k for my next town.
Next, does this mean anyone could make a golden shovel and make a town for 85k or whatever amount?
Also, are you going to input the information on the application afterwards so we know the town name/location/world. We need that information for when you do other apps so we can see who the original owner is.
Also, does this mean the GA's need to update you on the forum after you've been promoted in game?
Does this system account for the fact that you CAN have towns next to each other within a certain amount of space? How are we suppose to make sure the towns were approved using this system?
Finally, just to clear a few things up:
First of all vengeful is correct we have a command to go directly to the cords. Secondly, it takes something like 5 minutes to do an app tops. If you get good at it, like Andrew, it takes 1 minute.
I feel like there are a lot of variables that need to be considered before going forward with an idea like this. -
