Minecraft Name: clou44 Suggestion: Add build contests to Sportsbook so players can bet on who will win! Reason: It's fun! And everyone likes to pick their favorite build contest plot! Any Other Information: Not sure what the odds would be. Perhaps it would be added after judging starts, and the odds would be 1/n, where n=the number of applicants, or the number of plots that have been built on (those two are not always the same!). Then could just keep it as Plot 1, Plot 2, Plot 3, etc. Although, I'm not sure how the addon works, so it might only allow 2 teams. If that is the case, ignore this suggestion Link To This Plugin: N/A
I would've thought that the bidding would take place before the competition even opens. Everyone would then bet on the best looking build; there wouldn't really be any competition.
Not all the time, Winners of competitions are over a longer period of time, (Premier League,Super Bowl Champion, Golf) Winners of individual games are before it happens (Premier League and NFL Games)
Do you pick who wins before or after it happens? Clou is saying for is to pick a winner when built. They don't bet on the super bowl after it, they bet on it from when the 2 teams are announced, until the minute before it starts
It's not always so easy to say "oh yep, that person is gonna win" a lot of the time it is between 2 or 3 or 4 really nice ones.
I'd say no on this. No one in ECC has any influence on sports / stocks. The proposed SG games and other competitions will be decided between people competing before they actually battle. Betting on Build would mean a) the Judges of said Builds can not bet on the competitors and b) someone, eventually, will accuse a judge / Staff member of taking bribes to win a bet. The Build competitions are decided by impartial judges after all building is complete, meaning the judging happens after all of the "competing" is over. Having bets on the winners could be seen as a "conflict of interest". I am NOT saying that anyone on Staff would actually do so, but the accusation itself would create drama.
I know that. This is different, it isn't a bracket to see who enters the build contest, anyone can win, why decide whose the best after everything is done?
I rather like the idea of being able to bet on server events... and even if one staff judge did vote for their favourite build it's not a guarantee that it'll win, because there are often 7 or more judges.
Well, andrew stated that we would be able to bet on server events like PVP events, why not build events?
