Reason: It would be an easy way for poor people, who wouldn't have a great chance of winning lotto, to make some money. Some people just keep winning lotto, because they go big every time, so that intimidates people, so they don't want to go in. However, if this was added, people could bet on who wins lotto. Also, the percent of the money you receive goes down by $50 for each ticket that person buys. Ex: Say someone buys 1 ticket and you bet on them with 1k. If they win you would get your 1k+ an additional 1k. Say that person buys 2 tickets and you bet on them you would get your 1k+ an additional $950 back. That just keeps going on for each ticket. Most of the tickets are bought in the last few seconds of the lottery. How could anyone bet that quickly? And betting on people who haven't put tickets in yet is stupid. It sounds like a really convoluted, bad idea to me. Not to mention it's not even possible to do.
This would make making money way too easy - if someone buys 2000 tickets in a $1.8m lotto, and you bet all your money on them, you have a 94% chance of getting nearly double what you had before. -1.
I'm sorry, but this is just statistically wrong. The payout should be inversely proportional to the probability of winning, which is the ratio between the number of tickets purchased by that player over the total number of tickets sold. Diminishing the payout by $50 for every ticket purchased is just... wrong.
C'mon, don't feel down, the abstract idea was not so messed up, I would have been like "I can't see why not". The problem is with the implementation which could be very tricky, and after all proposing a suggestion to the public is mostly useful to discover the issues that one single person might not see. Do you believe in your idea? Then think about the issues and try to fix 'em!
I think betting on gambling is a good idea because it will make more money flow in the economy and take more money out of the economy and not be difficult to do (I think) and it should be done. +1
