It just caused issues, warning for a rating would just be a joke.

The using of "Like" or "Creative" can always be a great alternative for "Funny".

 

Funny is subjective. Even though it may seem straight-forward on what is trolling/harassing with "Funny" and what is not, it can still be fairly subjective. One person could see something as funny, another could see it not being funny.

As well, Funny was taken out because it was also being used on Staff Applications, Help threads, and anything meant to be serious and not Funny. Something so simple does not seem like it could harm anyone, but it can.

 

Then why not take the people using the funny rating and rid them from the community? The main people that did this troll people on a daily basis and have made many members leave - whether it be because these people harass them or something else. If these people were gone then that's most of the people that used the funny rating to harass, troll and overall bully.

It's not as simple as it may seem, most of those trolls don't even realize the harm of what they're doing. Only a handful of these trolls are actually aware of the harm they're doing, but most of them just see it as having fun.
Not to mention that a lot of these people are donators, we can't simply ban people for having a bad personality, especially not when there's money involved.

As for the funny rating. It was used in inappropriate situations about as often as it was in appropriate situations. It got removed because it's a huge opportunity for trolls to troll people. I can't see it returning ever again.

Yes, absolutely! I always rated funny thing funny now I just sit there like what do I do then move on.

 

Sadly this is a case of the few ruining something for the many. That being said, generally in cases like this until the community members who were abusing it show more maturity there isn't a lot we can do short of making it illegal to vote 'Funny' in the complaint/appeal section.

But honestly, I don't even care if someone rates my post funny "trolling" I just laugh an think how immature you are and it's even a free rating for me. Trolls rating posts funny arent even hurting anyone unless you have incredibly sensitive feelings (in which case you should probably get off the Internet). So why should the majority suffer for a few immature people who weren't even really hurting anyone.

 

Yea its a free rating. I want ratings. They don't. Also why do you have to look there. Just ignore it. I honestly want to rate it funny. I don't want winner since it isn't a winner. I may not like it but i want to say its funny. Creative is for something that is creative.

I know it all goes down to wether you cry or not. If you cry ignore it. If you don't enjoy the free rating.

Sympathy isn't your strongest point I see.

People were being hurt by them, people felt bullied, people felt threatened. It made people want to leave the server.
The funny ratings could also trigger some unpleasant memories. (bullying, for example).

Funny ratings aren't something you require, in fact, they brought nothing but trouble. I see no reason to ever bring them back.

 

Being likely one of the only users in ECC history to literally cause flame wars and forum bans from one of their Staff Applications, and having likely the most funny ratings to a staff application, I simply was OVERJOYED to see it go. I never want to see it return, ever.

And although I wouldn't normally say this, I'll admit there are times when I sat on my bed last round and went "Is this even worth it? Should I just cancel my application? It's not really worth it.." because of the hurtful ratings, and the reply that went along with them and also got rated funny. The funny rating really showed who was mature and who wasn't in certain situations. I was simply glad to see it go and I never want to see it again.

Sure, you might not care, you might even find it funny yourself, but keep in mind that not everyone is going to have your personality or sense of humor. Some might find it completely and utterly mean and hurtful, some may cry over it, and some may just brush it off and have a good laugh. It all depends on who you are. It caused more problems than what it was worth.

I've actually had someone Private Message me in game before about a funny rating I put on a post about their balance, because they said they couldn't share a screenshot so I was like "Oh that's funny! Haha! xD" and they messaged me and said something along the lines of "Why did you rate it funny..?".. Really, some people get offended from the simplest things, (Not that that's bad.) even if you didn't mean to offend them. Just like that last sentence, I probably just offended someone. (Sorry.)

TL; DR, It caused more issues than what it was worth, and I'm sure some people would agree that they don't want to see it again.

 

I was the person that asked why you rated it funny :3 and I wasn't meaning to be negative or anything like that, I just didn't know it was actually funny :p

 

Basically everyone before me summed up why it shouldn't return, the problems it caused ect. But I still have to post, so I feel like I'm contributing to the post.

 

People got too upset over the funny rating. It's not worth it to add it back.

 

But I miss the funny rating cause its not here. I cry for hours every night rocking back and forth thinking to myself "why o why did they remove the funny rating" it hurts me somewhere deep within. We need the funny rating.
