Minecraft Name: Dccciz Suggestion: My suggestion is to bring some type of buycraft credit to the server. Reason: Currently, I've been looking to buy just over $100 in donation features, so that I can get the promotion medal and forum+. I'm sure it's not just me, but only 1 person has offered to buy me them since the beginning of the year (during sales). The problem is that people who are buying USD for others don't have $100+ to spend, and might only have $15 or $20. It's not just promotions, it's also expensive features like nickname, extcommands, etc. If we were to implement some type of credit system, I could buy $20 from 5 different people, and get the $100 to buy what I want. Instead, the server is missing out on hundreds and hundreds of dollars, simply because players don't have that much to spend at one time. Any Other Information: My two ideas were that you could buy a $20 donation (special category), and upon being processed, you would get a special netherstar labeled $20 (unobtainable). It might be possible via buycraft, or maybe something separate would need to be coded. This item would be worth $20 USD, ingame. We could trade these items, between players, and redeem them if we have enough to buy a certain feature. We would redeem them like the collector medals, where a staff member would take the contents from a locked chest that was labeled in the redeem application. My second option was that we could set the buy limit of certain features to unlimited. People would buy these features, and when you buy them, your name goes on a thread. It's like the old donation system, and it might require alot more work from staff, but I think it would allow more people to buy more donations. +1 I like this idea. And I have a suggestion for your first idea. Perhaps instead of the stars being collected from a locked chest users could be able to spend them in the star shop or a new shop at spawn through a sign? This would be quite hard to implement but if it were implemented would be a pretty awesome addition.
This is a great idea and a needed one I think as well. Last year for the most part I was able to have $150-$200 per month available to help users with features, however, due to preparing to move to be closer my granddaughters, I am unable to have funds available for these large transactions. I have seen each month several players offering to buy $15 or $20 features and this would allow a player to "save" or have enough credits to purchase large ticket items.
This is not something that can be implemented through ECC. It would probably be best to contact BuyCraft directly as what you are suggesting is not currently a feature with the BuyCraft system. Although, I do like the idea.
I just signed up for a free buycraft trial to see what the options were like, here's what I found. There's this little feature here, which you can change when making a new feature. Make the feature $10, and change the user limit to 0 (unlimited). The ? next to the title says this: "The amount of times a customer can purchase this package in a chosen period. Set to 0 for unlimited." I'm assuming that whenever we buy a feature, the user limit is 1, because we can only buy it once. We could set it to the same category as EcoDollars, where we could buy this feature an unlimited amount of times. Then, whenever this feature is bought, it could give the player a barrier (item id 166), as shown below. As far as I now, no one has the barrier block ingame. If we make it so that no one can place the barrier block, just like bedrock, then we have a 2nd currency, just like netherstars. Assuming barries work with trade signs, people could also sell donations from spawnshops! If we were to do this, we'd have to take my first plan from the OP. Whenever we would like to redeem our barriers ($10 each), we'd have to leave a chest marked for phys (either by pm or a redeem application). She would clear the barriers and reward the player with the feature manually.
Isn't this basically what coupons are for? I like the idea of being able to sell/buy features via spawnshops but making the process manual isn't practical hence why coupons don't exist. (I think) Perhaps the barriers could be used with signs (like trade signs) that instead of giving you items or currency, will move whatever permissions over to you and give you the feature.
As vintage (kinda) said, we would need to contact buycraft if we wanted it to be automatic, but for now, I think this is the most automatic it can be.
I know of a few barrier blocks floating around some of the SA's... we've used them in builds. All in all my biggest issue is using an in-game item. These are susceptible to theft, sg crashes, enderchest clears, etc. I also don't think there would be any effective way to reclaim these in cases of Paypal fraud. Whatever means used would need to be directly modified by the highest administration (Phys) to be absolutely secure as all things relating to actual money should be.
So would the only safe options be: 1) Phys has to do extra work, and process these purchases manually. 2) Get Buycraft to implement a credit feature.
+1 Only problem is that people could lose the item that they get for the coupon, but I guess they could lose an eff7 or melon sword too. A coupon code might work better, but that is something buycraft would have to add itself.
+1, I've been wanting to buy fly/speed for quite some time now but no one is selling $60! If these credits were implemented i could get 3 $20 and buy it! I really hope this gets implemented ( if possible )
