In game name: Molar_Mass I have an idea of how to possibly increase votes for ecc on some of the voting sites: I imagine everybody starts at the first vote link when they vote, and then works their way down: 1 2 3 4 5 6 There are also likely people who for whatever reason do not finish voting, so their votes would go: 1 2 3 4 //interruption no 5 no 6 If this effect was significant, then the ranking of ecc might decrease slightly on sites 5 and 6. My idea is to change the order of the links to the voting sites every month or so without changing the icons, to "force" people to vote evenly, so ecc gets around the same # of votes per site.
I see where you're going with this and sounds like a great idea in theory but it may require an awful lot of extra work for admins, so I don't think it'll fall through.
Wouldn't it be as simple as changing the href's on the 6 links once a month? Or would it involve more than just changing one html file?
-1 No. There are people who are voting each websites in different time, which means it's only causing confusion. And it's too much work for minor change like that. The part you said "There are also likely people who for whatever reason do not finish voting" I know those people can exist, but I gotta say most of the players do vote all 6 websites when they get settled to this server, so I don't think significant change would be happen even if you do this. Meaning effect and result of change will be very very weak and small. I just think it's not worth it all the works. And also considering the confusion for loyal players who vote each websites in different times, it's only causing confusion. So I gotta say NO.
That makes sense. If the links changed every time the page loaded, then it would be impossible to finish voting after an interruption: 1 2 3 //interruption which is 4? 5? 6? this was just a random idea that popped into my head earlier, thanks for considering it though
I don't think this is necessary. I think most people that vote get all six links, since they want the nstars and the monthly vote rewards.
People who vote only vote once to get rid of the reminder or vote on all six to get the netherstars. If someone only votes for a few of them, it is probably due something on their own end interrupting them or they simply don't like certain voting sites (so changing order wouldn't matter). That doesn't happen often enough to really shift how "popular" ECC is on the voting sites. -1
