Minecraft Name: Berserk_on_xbl Suggestion: Giving marketplace shops the ability to have multiple owners. Reason: Hcpillar just aquired a shop in the marketplace and him and I have been working on it together, setting it up, designing it and so on. Hcp does not have a great computer and only gets 4 FPS maximum in the marketplace. It hurts (literally) watching him struggle like crazy trying to place blocks, signs, or any other thing that may go in there. Much raging from the lag ensues. I have a much better laptop than Pillar and i get 30 FPS in the shop on average. Eventually we plan to both have a spawn shop each so its not as simple as me just owning and managing it. So what I propose is allow multiple owners of marketplace shops which will make the market shop owning experience more efficient and enjoyable. This will also help with changing items within the shop. I do not know if any other users have had this same sort of issue, but i believe for the people it will benefit, it will help immensely. Other Information: There could be a fee for adding a new owner and an application to go with it. This can take money out of the economy, and more busy work for the mods! Everyone wins! Another option could be splitting the rent between the two owners evenly. A user can only be an owner for one shop. **EDIT** Changing items within the shop: I meant changing the blocks around, not actually changing the signs themselves. sorry for the confusion. **EDIT 2** No LWC or Trade Sign Removals can be requested inside of a marketplace when there is multiple owners. If a co-owner is not online or does not pay their rent, it can be fully taken over by the other owner if they pay in full. In this case the single owner can request an LWC and/or Trade Sign Removal 7 days after the past owner was removed, same policy with removing people from towns. Notice must be given on the day they were removed. most likely in the form of mail. **EDIT 3** Dork1877 Suggested this a few months back, his original thread is here http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/add-a-shop-helper.74255/ I also like the post made by 12345Shane in the thread. He was suggesting having a worker that cannot place a trade sign and if they do they will be removed from the shop and the sign would be removed. Somebody thought In Dork's thread that it could be a security risk. I don't see how this can be dangerous, I would strongly suggest only giving co-ownership to someone you trust completely, if they ripped you off somehow, that's your own fault. One more thing i would like to add. If the original owner does not want the co-owner or worker to be part of the shop anymore, they can file to have them evicted when the current payment period is up, with this the co-owner must be made aware of the eviction and so does the worker. **EDIT 4** With This system it also be alot easier for a shop to have 2 owners and switching off between them, instead of having to risk losing the shop every month, you could just switch off easily between the two people. It would be much more efficient than filing a new application every month.
+1 EDIT: Impossible. This would take alot of coding and it may be what will deny this suggestion and make it a never going to happen.
trade signs? what if one user is selling diamonds but you run out, the co owner cant refill the trade signs owned by somebody else?
The main issue is moving everything around. theres alot of things to move around not including trade signs, such as: Signs that point out where things are, blocks that are used inside the shop. Getting the shop working efficiently, and beautifully is a big task, and if its always lagging its very hard to do. Trade signs can be split evenly, since we share all of our money, I can manage the sell side while he manages the buy side, something can be figured out between the two owners. Co-ownership is not required and not everyone will want it, but people will have their own reasons for it.
So wait, are you saying that each of the owners would share signs, or have their own signs? Other than that, +1 a while back zeek and I wanted a spawn shop, but there was no simple way to share it.
Yeah that's what I thought. Just making it clear. This is a great idea and I think it should be considered.
I suggested this previously http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/add-a-shop-helper.74255/ i got sick of bumping it
If this were to be added, there would likely need to be some sort of extra application, and an additional 5k/week on the shop.
This was said in the original post, having another application and possibly a fee for adding them as well.
Now if the other user or "helper" is able to place trade signs then I would see this as a way for the owners of top level spawnshops and maybe even mid-level spawnshops to rent out the space that they have available to them in order to make some extra cash. That being said, if Andrew is okay with this then it would seem very beneficial for spawnshop owners and it would open up a new industry with huge demand. (I own a top-level spawnshop so that's why this opinion came to mind) Now if the "helper" does not in fact possess the power to place trade signs then I see this as rather pointless only because even if you do lag horribly in the market, (I am one of these people) you can and will still be able to redesign your spawnshop, break and change signs, and set-up your shop. It may take more time than needed, but ultimately, you will finish building your spawnshop so I personally see no point.
If they rent out some of the space then the owner will lose profit, and the helpers are not allowed to place trade signs at all so this wouldnt be allowed.
They wouldn't necessarily lose profit, I know there are owners with spawnshops that have certain products that don't sell and would be more than willing to offer up a few places to place signs.
If helpers aren't able to place signs themselves, then this is a bit pointless. If they are only helpers to Re-design the spawn-shop then thats something the original owner could do by himself, no matter how much lag he is getting. It would just be a huge waste of time on coding or implementing this when the owner himself could do it.
No code needed, just add a 2nd person to the region. Additional rules on the other hand would be needed.
the helpers are just an idea, but the co-owning part is very easy to implement. co-owners will split the rent and they can decide together what to do with their shop.
