Minecraft Name: iOrbit Suggestion: Adding a new addition to the Contracts part of the forum, where you would be able to add a [Contract Completion] thread, to terminate the contract outlines since the agreement has been met. In this thread there would be a link to the originally created contract and proof that this contract agreement has been met, and therefore should end. This is to prevent future accusations. Reason: Imagine I loan 100K from player A. Player A obviously wants to do a contract to ensure he does not get scammed and has the best proof possible. However, in a few months, lets say three, player A comes up and says I never paid him his 100K. Because of updates, such a long time and what not. The screen-shots who proved my innocence are no longer existent. This would save a lot of later problems to the up-coming staff team or current one. This would also prevent a lot of unfair bans. Any other information: The format of the contract completion could outline the following; Code: In-game name: Other user(s) involved: Link to original Contract: Evidence of contract agreements were met: Link to this plugin: N/A I'd just like to add this Suggestion is still in it's 'thinking' stage. Every and all feedback is more than welcome.
This whole tedious process of mods checking to make sure these are valid can be bypassed by taking two screenshots for everything so the date and time is timestamped. Then if the person argues that they were not paid and they actually were, the person paying would have timestamped screenshot of the payment. Its not a bad idea but there is a way to achieve the same result without the extra strain on the mods.
I don't think you read the entire post. Let me make my first point, how is it tedious? It's by far tedious. Especially for new mods who are trying to show they are worthy for the position, they would love to do so. This is an excellent way to show it. Plus, being a Moderator is not only about having fun, there are a lot of fun moments, yes, but the entire point is to help the server, and this is a way to secure future scamming, which is entirely what the staff team does. Secondly, the point was to finish the contract so later on you couldn't get accused of something, being called guilty, when innocent. It doesn't really matter if you get time-stamped screen-shots, even if you fill in your screen-shot folder with a screen-shot per second of when the deal was going on. The reason behind this, as stated above, was so that in later times, when you could possibly have deleted your Minecraft file, problems wouldn't rise over false accusations. There you go, it wouldn't achieve the same result, there is an actual purpose for all of this. Thank you. Anyways, once again thanks for the feedback, I greatly appreciate it and I will be hoping for a reply from you soon ^^.
I have mixed emotions on this one, while I think it'd be great to confirm that a Contract was completed successfully, it does pose to make Contracts more tedious and complicated, not to mention more work for Staff. Also, what's the punishment for not doing this? Let's say you get that 100k loan, make a Contract for it, and the loan is completed successfully, but you forget about filling out a Contract Completion thread... What would Staff do about that? Would this be an optional thing? Those are a few of the things that a holding me back from supporting this suggestion just yet. If you could tell me how it would actually work, if it would be mandatory or not, etc., then I'll give a final opinion.
I do understand it may/may not be a bit more tedious for the staff team. But it is to ensure the safety of the community. There is no punishment for not doing a contract completion. It'd just be silly if someone would get punished for not doing one. The contract completion thread would just to ensure your safety by it's full capacity and gets your contracts out of your way to later come and harm you. So, yes. This could very well be an optional thing. If one does not make a Contract Completion thread, then there is nothing staff can do but to encourage users to do so.
That's a decent point but if you deleted the screenshot and did not do a contract completion something is wrong. If something is worth making a contract over its worth taking the time to show the completion of the deal and save the screenshot. Overall, I think its a great idea! +1
This is exactly how I was trying to get the message out! Thank you! I'm glad I encouraged to support this suggestion ^^. Thanks
In addition, I could see this being like the goals sub category on economy section, a Contract Completion Sub-category, which would go in the contract section!
Don't make it mandatory. I would appreciate a place to post images or info that a contract is complete. This would also serve as a nice storage location so that someone doesn't about face later when I don't have a screenshot handy anymore... It has not happened to me.. yet, but this would be an interesting effort.
Yeah, originally when I made that post way back when, I had the impression that Orbit wanted this to be mandatory, so I was against the idea. However, since the suggestion is more of an optional thing I agree it'd be a nice addition.
