I really don't think that this has to be a suggestion. If you want to carry out a survey, do so. If you want to show your findings then show it to staff.
I don't see why this to be an official ECC approved group... Just go do it, you aren't breaking any rules.

I don't seek the approval of the mods just the opinions on the idea and how many people would like to have this/take part.

No one has done it because they do not know how, do not care enough, and/or are too young to figure out what kinds of questions to ask. ECC's community age is mostly 11-16. That is a pretty young age for hitting hard questions that make big (and good) changes. I would put together a survey or many to help, but I am currently swamped. But I know that if I did, I could get people taking it. I am fairly well-known (at least to people from 2011-late 2013, and the stalkers in 2014..creeps) and generally well-respected, which is really all it takes. Respect is different than having a lot of friends, though.

Having a lot of friends does not necessarily mean someone is a good person. I have seen many "friendships" based purely on work for pay, subtle blackmail, sucking up just to be in a "higher ring"/more popular, or having some desirable quality that people like. This is a theme on most gaming community, but it is especially evident in communities that have ranks, achievements, and an economy. I've seen it a lot on ECC. So although friendship can be a good sign, it could also be a bad sign. Respect is a better "measurement." Just for example, I said I am generally well-respected - but some of those people who respect often disagree with what I say, do not like my personality, or want nothing to do with me. Why do they respect me? My behaviors, the things I have done that they agreed with, etc.

If you make a big enough movement and set it up well, I am sure people will help you and you'll get a team. People on this thread have already said they would participate - just a matter of figuring out who wanted the fame of an official team, and who actually wants to help. And you do not need a team size limit so long as it's manageable, and there does not need to be terms; your team can survey each other with their own methods, too. Think of it like a... volunteer/research project for your high school graduation (which usually takes the entire Senior year or last Senior semester). It will take a lot of work - officialized or not - and collecting and compiling data can be tiresome, but it is possible. Those huge amounts of effort and work are what Staff do (or should) want to see, and should be glad to help with during, and look at once it is all done. :)

What I'm reading here, and interpreting it as, is that those "1000 posts" don't get enough comments. I'm pretty sure, again, seeing the number of people who are putting their ideas down on this suggestion alone is amazing. We're making progress! Look at how many people have viewed this thread. People don't need to post their ideas necessarily, they can look at it and agree. If they disagree, they'll sure as heck write something down!

If the people in the council don't do anything, your point is moot. If you're going to have a council it has to be active and with people who know what the heck they're doing.

Again, it would be amazing if there was a group on the forums to do this, but to make it server wide? Something that the server owners support and give power? Absolutely not.

As I said a 100 times before im not asking for power from the mods. The only interraction with them would be sending the data and requesting a response. I don't know what power this council would have.

I believe he is agreeing with the idea of the council just reiterating his stance against giving some type of power to the council which is exactly what's being proposed.

No perk over any other member of the community.

This ultimately is for the community and as assistance for server staff and mods.

Mods can go through everything and proceed with the necessary actions and decisions as they are required to without the council.

But the council purpose will be to reduce the redundancy and help provide clarification on topics at hand along with attempting to centralize the voice of members so that things can become more unified. This will take more time than the average member and those who decide to partake in this task should be aware of that. But also know with combined efforts we all will see a more positive and happy community. Reborn :)
