So correct me if I'm wrong but you're suggesting crates you buy with real money that give you a random amount of ingame items.

Although I like the idea of crates. They shouldn't give actual in-game items. That's taking money grabbing to a whole new level.

 

Items should be obtained in-game. (and they can be obtained in-game, in large amounts, even)
The only purpose for this is money grabbing, because the items are ALL obtainable in-game. I can get 2 stacks of diamonds for 4k. It's a waste of money, and thus just stupid money grabbing. It puts ECC in the same group as the shitty servers that sell in-game items for irl money.

The only thing I support it with is if you get the crates from voting (with in-game items as rewards) or if the rewards from the crates are limited to donation features or other in-game features. (like maybe an aether rank or something)

The crates should contain shit like pets, trails or maybe in-game money. And maybe nstars (because nstars are practically a currency on ECC and have no practical value aside from currency) Nothing stupid like practical in-game items.

 

I definitely agree with this more than anything else. But I don't think voting crates are ideal given our voting bonuses.

Eh, the voting crates was just an example of something I would be okay with seeing the items suggested.

 

well if there are crates the way you get keys are by voting there are usually 4 ranks of keys voting,common,rare,and mythical .most servers have crates however if there are crates there should still be nstars

 

I could definitely see doing something like this with in-game money, or even a custom craftable item (easily done here). I believe with one of the recent updates, you were given the ability to store items in a chest, that's in your inventory. You can do this in Creative mode, with Ctrl+M3 (middle mouse). This could be how we deliver the crates.

There could be different tiers, offering different max rewards. You could add custom flags to spawn random enemies, on placement, and stuff like that.

Make the average prize worth less than the cost, and it would be any easy, new money sink. Enticing players with that shiny max reward.

If CSGO crates tell us anything about people buying something for a small chance to get a big reward, then I'm sure these would sell like hotcakes. Using different tiers to ensure any user, rich or poor, can afford to buy them.

 

If this was implemented, I would reccommend the Steve Co Crate plugin. I don't know where to find it though.

It's an actual plugin that works off the idea that a random person gets a crate every 15 minutes, and that you open them by putting them in your inventory crafting table with a crate key, a voting reward.

 

Make them purchasable with igm.

 

Voting crates would be cool, but please no buying crate keys. Just makes the server more pay to win
