The issue I've seen with this in the past is that the skins of players change. If a a skin of one of those players is changed, anyone who's already bought that head will not have a broken one.

If there's a way to address these heads being completely reliant on other people who don't have affiliation with the server (I haven't read through all the comments, someone might have come up with an idea) then I'd be in favor. But until then, it's just an issue to think about.

 

I've been on a server that used this same system, and it still became such a big issue to the point where we had to put the skins on our alts. Not fun.

 

That's why you only get the MHF heads.

 

And those are also the same heads that can change skins. You'd be paying for uncertainty. It would be pretty stupid.

You're wrong though. Some of the heads in the database do change. That's what billy was referring to. They used their own alt accounts to replace the changed heads.

 

I like this, it should open a GUI or something where you can buy the heads.

 

If I'm not mistaken, you can:

1. change your skin;
2. use the /head command (spending 10k);
3. change your skin back to the old one.

The head should not update whenever you change skin, therefore always showing the skin you had when you used the /head command in the first place.
I still have to test this, though. But if this works, it would be much more versatile than generic (but fixed) decorative heads: you would be able to make your own custom heads!

 

I may be mistaken, but I think that all heads of a player update if one of them is placed, i.e., you wouldn't be able to place a second head with a different skin.

I think this is what happened when I last tested it. I may be mistaken or it may have been changed.
