[Suggestion] Disagree rating

In reality, I see no need for disagree when potato generally gets the point across. If you disagree, you should probably include why as to give the OP insight, or just rate it potato and move along.

 

Wait! You mean that my potato ratings are because others disagreed with me? I am so old and clueless sometimes - I thought potato was more like funny.
I disagree with adding any more ratings - and would give you that rating if it was there

And you are right when it's kinda like funny. It's a rating to have people get their emotions out without posting.

But seriously, I don't think you need a disagree rating, mainly because you can comment with a short -1 and opinion. Plus, as stated, there's a lot of ratings now to use.

 

I want a disagree rating. BUT, only limited to the suggestions section. And absolutely nowhere else.
The disagree rating is very useful for suggestions. And I want it for that purpose.

 

While I understand why some users feel that a disagree rating would be helpful in the suggestion section, I do not believe that it is a necessary addition. First off, if by chance a disagree rating is added to this section, I feel that it could not have any weight on one's overall ratings. This would limit the extent to which people can troll with this by giving it no effect other then the message that someone disagrees. However, I do not feel that the rating is necessary at all in any sections of the forums. I believe that not having a disagree rating makes players more inclined to share their constructive criticism on suggestions rather than simply clicking a button and moving on. Although this is not always the case, in the instance of people saying "-1", it would be more beneficial to both the player making the suggestion and the server (should the suggestion be improved by criticism) to not have a disagree rating.

If that is the reason that you want to see this rating added, I believe that adding a poll would serve the same purpose. It allows people who want to quickly check the public consensus to do so, while also maintaining constructive criticism for those who don't.

 

Unfortunately, we live in a society where if you offend a person the tiniest bit, it turns into a huge dang problem. This is probably the only forum that I am part of that does not have a disagree rating.

 

Currently, all ratings are a positive thing. Disagree cant be positive, so people will just troll rate all your posts disagree to ruin your positive ratings!

 

I think that a disagree rating would overall not be well received by the forum community and would possibly lead to arguments.

As for what the ratings mean, at least for me any ways, is there face name and the person who rated it. Potatoes for me will always be potatoes.
