Prior to this point it wasn't that big of a deal because it only made selling chest packages, ebooks, and enchanted items more difficult. But as many of you have noticed due to recent updates you can no longer place spawn eggs or potions into signs as well. That's quite a blow as far as selling these items and there are now many items that are a real drag to sell on anything but a minor scale. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/displaychest/ This too has been posted before. It's old and it looks like it really isn't in top form, but I think it would be quite possible to accomplish this either by altering our current plug in, making a new one, or fixing up one of these ones that already exist. I think it would be worth devoting some time to after our dear dev recovers from the booster coding and less urgent stuff can be attended to now that the problem has grown so much.
I do not know in what way LWC donation chests were exploitable, but the main question is "Is this problem bound to the LWC plugin itself or to the method of displaying unmovable items in chests?". If it's the first, I support the idea. If it is the second choice, it is possible that the same problem may reoccur again.
Yeah it really would be helpful to understand the nature of the old donation chests' exploits as far as figuring out a good solution goes. I find it hard to believe both types of chests, donation or display, are totally unfixable. Then again, I can't code or develop at all so I really can't say I'm sure I know I'm talking about.
