Minecraft Name: Glooble
Suggestion: At random times (no more than once every 3-4 weeks), farming prices are changed so that one crop will be the most profitable and others will go down in price temporarily. This would provide a change of scenery for people who make their money with farming, as well as require people to adapt to price changes. Users would need to find a way to farm different crops to make their money. This could boost the economy by having people pay to have farms built or pay to get permissions for a farm.
Having occasional price changes would allow people to continue to make the same amount of money, but it would remove the monotony of watching melons break all day.
Reason: Some people enjoy farming, but would also probably enjoy a change every so often. It would also require people to do more than just farm by requiring new farms to be built.

I didn't want to be the first nay-sayer, but I do think it'd be tricky and a bit inconvenient for those in charge of price changes. But I would love to see this implemented. +1

Hello,
I think this is interesting. Personally I feel we could have price changes not necessarily always a good way. IE: "There has been a potato disease" suddenly poison potatoes increase in frequency and poison potato prices drop.
"There has been a decrease in a need for grains," the price of wheat and bread drops.
"Melons aren't getting enough water," all other crops rise slightly, melons drop by half.
Etc etc. I think it would be interesting.

This would open up investment opportunities as well. You buy low, sell high.

I've made a similar suggestion in the farming prices thread. I use the time frame of months though, to allow people to change their farm if they want. Weeks works better to focus on farms being diversified from the start, or having different farms.

Can't you just store all your crops, then sell them once the prices are at their peak?

I suppose if you wanted to wait what could be a couple of months to sell your crops, you could do that. It would just be the same as it is now, except you don't get immediate profits. I would think most people would rather switch to farming something else rather than hoarding one crop and waiting a few months to get any money. -

This was my thought too, but people are just going to switch to whatever crop is currently 'up' anyway. So I don't think it matters.-
