Thread Title: show the time in the forum Minecraft Name: rivercobber Suggestion: as many of us don't live in America its hard to know what time it is over there like when there is an event on instead of having to find out what the time is you can just look on the server forum and you could have all the counties in a drop down box Reason: I would like to participate in more activities but when the time comes up I have to stat with "what is the time there " and this could be usefully with something like the stock market for example "the stock market close at 12:05 ECCT(ecocitycraft time)" Other Information: Link to this plugin: n/a
+1, Perhaps right under the "Members Online" section would be a good place to put it? I would like this idea, although I live in America, it may encourage people who do not live here to participate in more server events, as they can easily know when they take place in our time and their time.
I would most likely assume that the widget would be based of Eastern Standard Time in the United States if I read this correctly; as this is the time that the server currently uses. It appears that shoutbox, from the outside observer too, is done in EST (as all of my 9:00 posts show up as 12:00 AM when I'm logged out.) In any regard, having a forum clock in a widget would be a +1. That also helps with Spawn Shop Expiries, Events, etc. I like it!
Or just know that your own time zone is EST+/- X hours. ^~^ I'm a little split on this... personally, I think it's quite easy to remember the time difference, especially when you regularly calculate with it. On the other hand, the daylight savings time can ruin such planning. (Why do europe and america change to/from daylight savings time at different dates, anyway...?) In total, I'm not sure. However, I am leaning against a +1.
I'd be okay with it as long as it's done in a universally readable time and date format. (so no "03/04/15" date, or "12:05" time. Only "April the 3rd, 2015" and "12:05 PM") EDIT: Something like this: (Except EST, not PST)
+1 yeah, pretty much what everyone else said As long as this is in EST and will change when daylight savings time comes and goes, this would be a great addition.
Many other video games do this idea, it's great having a central "Server Time" (could be EST but just call it "Server") this makes planning events and other time coordinated situations much easier, +1
