It would be done with an application that would be accepted by an SM+ or a GA+. A staff member can not accept their own app. The amount of money would have to be over 50k. All the dates and amount would be documented so no one could get away with scamming. Keep in mind that this is between forum accounts. This would be a great idea and would be a great way to help pay back loans, as you said. And it wouldn't be a necro if you posted on that thread +$10,000.
The only staff ranks which can directly handle cash in the way stated by this suggestion are SA's and above. Which, for staff purposes, is pretty much just me. If we were to extend this to lower staff ranks I really wouldn't see the difference in just asking a staff member to hold on to money until they see someone online.

I think this is already available but monomer has access to it. A trade sign is not recorded or documented. The purpose of this is so it is document with absolute proof with no question that someone didn't pay.
But is that worth simply double tapping f2 to a trade sign they built selling dirt for 400k? I hardly see the difference....
Not actually true - all trade sign interactions are logged. These logs are of course only accessible by administration however we can in fact access these if a dispute over a payment arises. (Admittedly looking into them is something that I'd prefer to avoid if possible but I can do if issue arises over payment evidence).
~Bump~ Nicit said that only SA+ has permissions to move money between accounts on the forums. Now there is two of them instead of 1.
