Minecraft Name: SuburbSomeone Suggestion: I'm suggesting that we remove kits and by doing so, level the playing field in SG once and for all. Reason: Now that the EULA has taken effect, kits are no longer purchasable using USD. This, I would assume, would prevent Part 7 of the Sale and Refund Policy from taking effect. Here is the rule: My suggestion is that we refund kit owners with ECD, and limit the window to be refunded to be at most two weeks. I personally would use a rate of $3,000/USD, which is two thirds of the feature rate under the booster. While this may be seen as shortchanging users, it limits the economic impact of removing kits, which is certainly massive no matter what (with 3k/usd, someone with all kits would get refunded $2,160,000). Why would we remove kits, you ask? Because they are a deterrent to non-kitting players. You can tell simply by looking at the SG board that it's mostly a dead minigame. Double digit player counts are rare unless there is a boss battle or coupon SG. SG is something that not every single server has, but it's something that we can wear proudly and use to entice new users if we allow ourselves to make it fair for everyone. Rather than a new player complaining about SG, we can have one playing it instead. And the kit debate may be settled yet (though I'm sure it will rage on in the replies). Any Other Information: There would likely need to be a replacement booster for this - if possible, I'd like to see double item spawning in every chest. This would make games quicker and more dramatic, as users take longer than usual to loot chests and by the end are more likely to have someone on their tail after doing so. I guess people could brainstorm ideas, though maybe that's better suited for another thread. Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: It's removing things, so no.
Probably about 10 million. It's hard to say. $3,333 in kits would need to be refunded for it to hit 10 million, though.
I would +1 this, but probs even up to 50 mil could be brought into the economy. If you think of a better way to refund players, I'd +1
You could always change your vote to "Sure, but I'm not with you on everything" Why not David? Just curious
+1. I am a little concerned about the amount of money brought into the economy. Maybe a gift card for the online store to use on cosmetics, or they could sell it. Or perhaps 2k per USD. In the long run, getting rid of kits would improve player counts I belive.
I'm inclined to agree with the suggestion, but the timeframe for refunds should be very short. like 1 month. HOWEVER, based on what I've heard there are plans to implement a booster that turns SG into no-kit for a while. I'd say wait it out a little and see how that goes. I also know Andrew says he intends to make the server more new-user-friendly, I'm assuming this means SG as well.
The former would probably anger @BackToThePast significantly - the latter would be nice but I don't know how kit users would feel about that.
+1, However, i think to keep everyone happy have two separate survival games. One for kits, and one were kits are disabled. My reasoning behind this, people who have kits might still feel cheated if they are removed. Also, some people do like using kits against other kits, Having two sections would improve everyone's experience i believe.
+9999999 (I would be warned for spamming if I posted the full number) One thing though, wouldn't it be kinda damaging to suddenly release $10mil+ into the eco all at once? Maybe do $2mil a day, starting with the most active players and working down.
-1 The no kit booster Andrew has spoken about could bring in some cash to help fund ECC. I do, however, think that kits are finally able to be nerfed since they are not paid for with hard currency. We'll have to see what @JamieSinn thinks about this though.
Sorry, but this is just horridly impractical. I've already set up a nokit booster. Please guys, if you honestly want sg to be fixed, suggest something else, and not just default to the "REMOVE KITS, KITS ARE BAD". Denied.
