What about further up the chain, and take me for example, an Ecoleader with three towns. If this rank was added I would get knocked down three ranks all because I am short one town? While I would love to see new ranks added, I honestly don't see a good way of adding them into our linear ranking system.

I don't know enough of the internal set up to know how well this would work, a nice alternative could be adding some 'side-grade' ranks instead may be the answer. Instead of going for mayor/president, there could be two ranks with equal permissions, so any commands that rank would get is transferred to them, however they don't get a town. They could be slightly cheaper, add more ranks if that is what people want, and not cause an unknown amount of effort to be put into demoting people that are short the correct amount of towns. While not flawless, I still see that as less effort than tracking down all the people that would need to be demoted, assuming the internal set-up allows for it.

In short, I would love to see new ranks added, just how linear system of ranks doesn't take to new ones being added into the center very well.

 

Yet give the presidents the governor but also give them the "220k town 3" free for their troubles, because if we aren't getting a refund and just getting de-ranked to something that people don't want, then we should get something extra in return. All in all only have presidents pay for the "270k town 4" town just for their problems

As well andrew would have to make over 100-2000 presidents governor (Not sure how many there are, but there are ALOT) and this would make alot of hassle for andrew just de-ranking.

You could also just make a rank ahead of president for town 4, 220k to get it... the rank could be like "PrimeLeader" or something or "Minister" or something, and also the fact we don't have nearly as many tycoons as we do presidents, so it would also be easier to give them a choice of de-rank with a 280k refund or go to president with a full refund.

 

Like everyone else has said, it would be cool to see this added, but it would be very hard and take a lot of server cooperation

In essence, you have to derank EVERYONE past president due to the fact that they skipped this as well. This would mean no ecoleaders and feuds over the deranking. I like the idea but if you have to derank someone, it's not gonna happen.

 

Er, we've had a deranking/refund issue before and andrew did it… just saying.

 

It would be cool and I wouldn't mind being demoted. Governor sounds pretty cool. Not sure how long it would take/how the process would go, but this is an interesting topic.

There are too many factors and reasons not to do this; Make governor become president and make president go before tycoon;
Governor you get town 2 with
President you pay 40k + 220k for town 3 with
That's the only way I see this working.
