Try digging on a different level or just tunnelling straight until there's no more tunnels.

I mined yesterday. 24 HOURS ago, and I was finding stuff left and right. I usually follow those eff7 paths because they are in such a hurry to blaze around that they miss the stuff in between. I followed a wide path that had side passages every 10 blocks or so. I went between them and didn't have to fill my inventory with stone to get to the ores they left. Spent 20 minutes, found 5 stacks of coal, 4 stacks of redstone, a stack of diamonds and lapsis. I mine EVERYTHING, because the number of times I find diamonds UNDER coal that is showing right there in the main "eff7 tunnel" is pretty high.

I remember someone (Staff?) did a calculation on a Mining World that was reset to figure out what blocks were left in the old one. Turns out we could have left it another month or so because there were TONS of ores left.

I don't want a set time / date for a reset because I don't want to listen to people start whining about the reset being 5 minutes late. I like the surprise of logging in and someone says "Mining World Reset!!!?! woohoo!!!"

To reiterate: There is a lot of stuff left, you just have to walk farther than 100 blocks from the portal and go between what other's have already done.

Maths: (x)2.5k x (z)2.5k x (y)64 = 400,000,000 blocks. All of the ore is not gone. Not even close.

 

Correction... 2500 blocks - in every direction from 0|0. So actually 5,000*5,000*64 blocks = 1,600,000,000.

 

Honestly, I couldn't remember if it was 2.5k total or 2.5k each way, so I went with the smaller number, which still calculates out to an impressive number...

 

Honestly, just wait patiently for it. It's not really something that is a fixed time due to other projects and IRL things; Andrew couldn't generate the map due to his laptop being the main driver as his desktop was WIP.
