When I first got on Friday night I saw someone named "**Pikachu" and I was so confused but they said they were selling nstars so I PM'ed them, it kept sending me to the "wrong" player and so I logged and came back on, same thing. This is how I first learned we had a new feature and I instantly did not like it.

ALSO, my biggest frustration from this is that someone suggested custom tag colors and such, and it was shot down by the same people defending this. I don't understand why you can say that was a bad idea but being able to change your NAME AND COLOR ever 10 seconds is smart. I would love this feature if you could cange your color and bold it, underline, whatever, but NOT change your name.

Alright what I mean is, say if you joined a new server and people are changing their names. You would be a bit confused right? Well if you are confused on a server and you are new, you will most likely quit.

I know people can have fun with the feature but, it can annoying others. It is not people being jealous, it is people getting annoyed. Some of the names feel like spam. One user used all these random numbers.

Kuke I hope I explained why I find it annoying and why is can scare away new users. :)

So your stance is that because you are poor and miserable, everyone else should be poor and miserable?

A lot of people are with me on this issue. Success in EcoCityCraft should not be dependent on IRL status.
I don't mean that everyone should be poor and miserable, just that game-breaking features should be removed to stabilize the economy.

Here are some examples of people's thoughts on the McMMO levels update... (http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/t...o-levels-thoughts-opinions-suggestions.55201/)

This one is from Zardyger himself...

How is this like McMMO levels? Well, just like McMMO levels, users are given an opportunity that previous users have missed. For example, someone spends 50 or more hours achieving $1,000,000 to attain the tag $EcoLeader$. However, the next day the Nickname feature is released and another user purchases it, and changes their name to something just as cool, if not more so considering they can change it at will. It's just the same as McMMO where users such as Netsui spent thousands of hours training, just to be thwarted by someone who is willing to pay IRL money to succeed in EcoCityCraft.

My final point: this donation feature likely does not generate as much revenue as others seeing andrewkm's statement about the McMMO levels:

If the features are rarely bought at all, it wouldn't be that big of a difference if they weren't introduced. Assume the Nickname feature, like the McMMO one, is purchased only once a week. That's only a $50 increase in revenue for the server per week. In my opinion, wouldn't it be better to have a pleased, friendly community than an extra $50 per week (which is likely nothing in the grand scheme of donations)? More satisfied users => more donations => better server => more users and the cycle continues.

I don't mean for these opinions to be offensive or seem overly harsh to anyone, and I'm truly sorry if they do, but please know I don't mean it in a rude way. I'm simply trying to inject my ideas into this suggestion; trying to make EcoCityCraft even better than it already is.

(Extra: This thread also sheds some light about people's feelings towards more colorful and random chat... http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-customtag.71573/)

Slowly you will be able to buy so many things on ECC it will become one of those servers that everyone has like everything. Everyone will get to 1000 one day because of donating (well people who actually care t0). I think he should have done a poll before this because the outlook of this thread seems like its 98% no and 2% kuke.

Andrewkm will probably reply with "Its already released."

Yes I agree, Andrew can be slightly mysterious/annoying by simply closing a thread with a half-understandable answer :p

But overall, it is his server, we're only allowed to play here because he says so.

What is stopping you from acquiring these features.

How is this different than any other game that has micro transactions?

That's the problem; I don't support microtransactions in the first place. I was able to put up with the ability to purchase features (with a strong resentment towards purchase of EcoDollars), but when it became that one was able to purchase McMMO levels and fully buy success in the game, it kind of ruined McMMO for me. Now, Tycoon and Ecoleader ranks are not very useful since cool, colorful tags can be purchased.

What I'm getting at: A builder with $5000 USD who joined today could instantly become EcoLeader, 1000 in all McMMO skills, and pretty much "beat" the game in one day. My main point here is that this donation is severely downgrading the importance of the Tycoon and EcoLeader ranks. Why not make people spend $800+ to achieve EcoLeader than just buy a cool name for $50?

Our biggest donators work really hard irl for the money. Not everyone can spend hours and hours in-game, they make up for that with the money they make irl.
Also, if a builder with $5000 gets ecoleader and 1000 in all skills, how would that affect you? And how do you think it would affect that builder? You really think anyone would "beat" this game in one day? Do you really think someone is willing to spend $5000 to ruin his own fun in 1 day?

Also, this doesn't affect you in the slightest, there are people willing to buy features for others in exchange for EcoDollars, EVERYONE can get features as long as they work hard either in-game or in real life. What's stopping you from doing that? What's stopping you from getting the features you want from others? How does it affect you when other people buy features? Does it make you feel like it's unfair? Or are you not supporting those microtransactions because of some other reason?

Instead of saying you don't support it, or saying it's bad. Why don't you tell me how exactly it affects you and how exactly it's bad.

Also, how is it downgrading the importance of EcoLeader and Tycoon? It doesn't remove the ranks, it just changes your name, Tycoons and EcoLeaders still stand out more than presidents and lower, even without the nicknames. Again, state your reasoning.

I don't feel like the nicknames detract from Tycoon and Ecoleader, their rank tag still says 'President' (or Mayor or whatever). However, it is annoying to not know who someone is and to have to type a long command to find out. I think we would have been better off if the donation was color, italics, bold, etc -- instead of name changing.

PULLH20 McMMO levels for sale are so expensive that I'm nearly certain that no one buys them. If they did spend tons of money on it, that's great for keeping the server running. I'm willing to bet those responses you quoted were posted before andrewkm realeased the number of levels and cost in USD. Once we found out how expensive it was, no one cared anymore.

_TANSTAAFL you are indeed correct, many people stopped caring about the McMMO levels being able to be purchased when the price was released. However, I do have this quote, from one of the best McMMO users on our server, RockDassie:

Here is a quote from Netsui, who I am reasonably confident did not cheat for his McMMO levels.

I know both Zard and Netsui were firmly against it. How about asking what they think about McMMO levels now? zardgyer and Netsui

Past quotes can mean nothing, because people's opinions may have changed.
