Minecraft Name: ScarabCoder Suggestion: You can apply for an image to be generated as a set of maps and have them put in a chest to be placed where ever you wish. Maybe the cost would be 5k-20k. Reason: Obvious enough, it could be used to make things look really nice. For example, the Zodiac banner at the Zodiac Nation spawn. Also, maybe an image layout showing a blueprint of a mall for easy shopping. Any Other Information: I made a picture of what this would look like. There are multiple plugins that do this, I simply found one that supported multiple maps. This might be a very difficult feature to add, though maybe Jamie can make his own plugin rather then using ImageMaps. I actually... Like this idea. I'd much rather it cost in ECD though - Most people wont pay 5 USD for a simple image and it's best done in an application where the applicant can specify what image they want.
To address the different points... 1. I experimented with pixel art on maps a long time ago. I found out that server restarts and many other things can make maps blank until the area they are linked to is visited by a player again. So it might be extremely difficult to avoid maps from clearing. 2. Item frames are disabled for a reason. "Give me the permission to place _______ in any way I want them, and I will most likely reward you with a duplicated item" - Philosophy of 314 for the last few MC versions when talking about hoppers, pistons and item frames.
Good point. I just thought it would be awesome to have this. Though the potential for things going wrong is huge.
