Minecraft Name: Dccciz Suggestion: Using all caps should be allowed in the shoutbox. Reason: It causes no harm to people and allows people to express themselves. In most tense sportsbook situations, people come to the shoutbox to cheer on a team. It can give everyone a chance to show expression. Any Other Information: I'm not suggesting all CAPS ingame. The shoutbox follows all in-game chat rules, Expi. The arguement you make, Dcc, could also be applied to in-game chat. It's exciting when you're in to a game, or when you're cheering somebody, or a team, on... but why? Using a couple exclamation marks conveys the same thing, and proper punctuation is something that should be used. If you want to be loud, why not get on TS where you can actually vent said excitement? In-game chat and the shoutbox just doesn't seem to be the place for it. Anyone not there with you in that moment of excitement, or even interested in the sports game, etc, is only going to be disturbed or put off by the caps that aren't really necessary.
I DISAGREE WITH THIS VERY MUCH. THERE ARE A SELECT FEW WHO WOULD TAKE ADAVNTAGE OF THIS AND IT WOULD GET REALLY ANNOYING. (I think you see my point). You could argue that ingame you have /shout and caps is allowed there, but /shout costs 1k so people won't constantly spam chat with caps. Tbh I'm tired and don't want to write too much right now, but realistically if you *have* to express yourself with caps then you should go ingame and shout it there or otherwise use your words.
Good lord, all this time I was sure we were talking about /shout. Only after @miner1975's comment I realize we're talking of something else, that is: taigachat. -1 to the suggestion, I don't think taigachat is a place to shout. Btw, why don't we get rid of the name "shoutbox" and call it only taigachat? at least, there would be no more confusion.
That'd lead to even more confusion - Most MC servers call it shoutbox, and many people have no idea what taigachat is, but know what shoutbox is.
Sorry @Dccciz, but -1. For the reasons Kmax said above and it is spammy and not very plesant to look at.
Lots of pros and cons as stated above. I wouldn't have a problem as long as its not excessive. But then we would have to define what that is. For now -1
I don't really see how this could hurt, and it would be fun for all those sports fans out there, so +1 If all normal chat rules apply in the shoutbox, then spamming isn't allowed, so (hopefully) it wouldn't get too excessive.
