Arousal
So you're casually walking along the walls of rising spawn, with swagger in each step, when good ol' Billy from the flour mill messages you asking for a lotto team. You say sure, he purchases a single ticket, and you purchase one hundred, with $300,750 in the pot, and 5 seconds left on the timer, the pressure is building.
'Congrats!' You say to young innocent Billy as he one tickets the lottery, 'Good thing I'm teamed with you, right?'. Billy says, 'Wow I won!'. 'So... paybacks?' You query, 'Lol NO, noob' responds Billy, who then logs off.
You are now left, with salt overflowing into global chat, and an empty balance, what can you do?
Nothing really.
The Suggestion
That's what I'd like to change - I feel as though lottery teams should be enforced. The amount of 'salt' that is generated from 'lotto scamming' is enough to give an elephant hypernatremia. Especially if you were a newer player, you'd expect that something like lottery teaming would be enforced, and that if your team-mate decided to not pay you back, then the staff would have your back, you'd think that doing something like that would be against the rules as it's very rude and unfair.
How to Implement It
It would be simple, add a section to the rules about this saying that lottery teams ARE enforced, and detailing a few important details such as:
- Types of paybacks
- Splits
Where you split the profit/gross ECD of a lottery win, a percentage would be decided between the players involved. For example, I win a lottery with 100,000 ECD profit, I have to pay my lotto partner 40% (40,000 ECD) of that profit, and I keep the rest.
- Givebacks
Quite simply, where if a member of your lottery team wins, you get the money you spent on tickets returned to you. EG, you put in 200 tickets, you lose, but your team member wins, they pay you 200,000 ECD.
Defining these things would help to keep the enforcement of the rule consistent.
Players would also have to agree on how long the team would last for, EG 1 lotto or until the users agree to opt out.
Example of How it Could Look in the Rules
It makes sense to place it in 'Section 3, Economy and Transactions, Clause 2 - Scamming'. It would be clause 2.4 and I would personally make it like so (Obviously this is just an example):
Conclusion
I feel as though lottery teams should be enforced. I deal with disputes about lottery teams between users nearly every day and it would be much easier to tell the users to file a complaint than to go through the process of them potentially slandering each other (Which is not at all uncommon). I've put a good amount of effort into this suggestion and would greatly appreciate it if people didn't just comment '-1', and instead say why they disagree.
Thank you.

Its too difficult to enforce this.
People could have longstanding teams which they would need to reinforce.
Along with that comes the issue of
"Its my money, I won it fair and square, so why should i share it" Regardless of a team. What your saying is that someone should be able to file a complaint because they risked their money and lost it in a game of pure gambling? Im sorry but that sounds idiotic.
Do I get salty if someone doesnt pay me back? Yes. But I put my money at risk, they won it, and decided that they want to keep it. (Maybe people gamble with loan money and screw themselves over?)

I don't see any major downsides to this suggestion (except that it could maybe be a little hard to enforce), and personally don't see why this isn't part of the rules already; as if you have an agreement with someone, and they refuse to hold their side of the deal, imo, I would say that was scamming. +1

It shouldn't matter if it's gambling, when someone makes an agreement, they should fulfill its terms. I personally don't see the difficulty in enforcing it if people supply screenshots (Which are obviously very easy to take), although I will edit the post soon about cancelling teams/how long teams last for.-

Lotto teams are meant to be made with people you trust.-

As for the suggestion, sorry. -1.
My personal view on this:
Lotto teams shouldn't even exist. It is a user's responsibility to either team and expect something like this or just not team.
Also, what about "permanent lotto teams"? Would you need to prove the cancelation of them in somebody else's complaint?
Also, the difference to normal contracts/agreements is that this type of agreement depends on pure coincidence about whether they have to do something, which I am basically against. (See section "My personal view on this"). -

@Zedoker I'll try to address each point, but you're putting me up against a lawyer here :p
'What happens if there isn't enough winnings to split between the team, or if someone you are teamed with also has a team of their own which they haven't told you about'
That's honestly... A really good point. I suppose if someone decided to make multiple teams then they would have to figure out their own way to pay everyone back.
Regarding not having enough money, I suppose the player that wins the lotto could keep the money they spent, then the profit goes to the other player, there is a risk involved I guess.
'This is only made worse by the fact that lotto team 'agreements' tend to be something like "team? buy 20"'
As I said in the main post, players would need to specify various things in their agreements.
'but lets be honest, is that realistically going to happen?'
It doesn't take a lot of effort honestly.
'I feel like it will only lead to more work for the staff.'
It's already a lot of work to deal with players that are raging about getting 'lotto scammed'.
' It's a lottery. It's gambling and has taking the above into consideration, there should be risks. '
I feel as though that shouldn't stop an agreement from being honoured.-
