Well for starters all this “effort” you put into the suggestion wasn’t really needed, half of this suggestion is just there for the sole purpose of ratings. Another thing to note is that this suggestion doesn’t really need to exist at all as kuke mentioned as there is already an existing suggestion which is trying to achieve the same thing as this suggestion.

The reason I -1’d it is pretty simple, just look at Dewsy’s posts which pretty much sums up everything.

 

The same could be said about giving out loans then, say if I gave someone a 100k loan and they prove not to be trustworthy and don't pay back, so you are saying, because I didn't know whether the user was trustworthy or not that means you don't deserve to get the money you loaned out back? My point is, how are you supposed to be able to tell if someone is trustworthy or not, that would be the point of enforcing lotto teaming as a rule.

 

If you're not sure, just don't lotto team, or don't play lotto altogether.

Same with loans... If you don't feel safe giving the loan, don't give it out. There's ways to find out if players are trustworthy (if they've had complaints filed on them, loans feedback thread, in-game behavior) and if you're still not sure, go with your gut, or just don't give out the loan.

 

Yeah, but people who you think you can trust and have had no complaints or anything like that against them, can't always be trusted when it comes to lotto teaming.

As with loans, it's enforced in the rules, so people hardly loan scam as they know they will just get banned for it. But with lotto teaming, if you lotto scam, there is no punishment as of right now, so people do lotto scam as they know they can get away with it, which is just plain rude imo, as most of the times when someone gets lotto scammed, the player who lost had every intention of paying back and keeping their side of the deal if they had of won; and lotto scammers know this, so they just take advantage of the fact there is no rule in place which can get them into trouble.

 

-1, if you can't trust the person enough to know that they will pay you back 100% of the time every time, don't team.

 

If you're worried about it, don't play lotto then.

I lotto team with very, very few people: IRL friends, and people who have consistently given my money back And I know will in the future. That's about four people total.

If you aren't sure if someone is a trustworthy teammate, don't team with them, or don't play lotto.

As for the comment about rudeness, yes it may be rude, but like I said, your loss if you lotto team and don't get your money back. You risked the money.

Never said I was worried about it, just don't like to see people get lotto scammed, for reasons I have already said. And would just like to see this rule implemented as it will do no harm to anyone (except those who like lotto scamming), all that will chance is, it will just ensure people don't get scammed anymore :)

 

I am sorry but do not see how this will stop the slander and arguments. I also feel the following guidelines would solve this issue.
Perhaps put "Lottery Teams Not Enforced" in MOTD and possibly more places on the WIKI.
Player slanders and complains that lottery team failed is told that lottery teams are not enforced.
Player continues tirade - is warned that continued discussion will result in ban.
Player just can't stop - is kicked.
Of course this rarely works either - and now receives a 6 hour temp ban.
What? Really? Starts up again at 6 hours and one second - Ban that has to now be appealed.
While this may seem simplified, it does seem to me this system would stop a lot of these issues in their tracks. It also does not take into consideration if it is a brother, cousin, friend or other - it just simply stops the continual interruption of game playing for everyone else.
Would possibly be nice if this system could be used for other issues as well.

Sick and tired of getting screwed over by people who I thought I could trust and was very good friends with, ive lost so many friends over being lotto scammed.

Same situation happened last month when I paid *not gonna say name* back around 15 times in 1 day cause we were a lotto team. The one time he wins, he wins around 121k of my money. He won 400k with 200 tickets and he made a good 200k profit and 80k profit if he made it back, but he kept it all and scammed me, which eventually led to me getting bored of the server and leaving.

What im trying to say is the people you're supposed to 'trust' back stab you the most. This should be enforced as I hate getting lotot scammed and seeing others get lotto scammed.

 

It makes more sense to ban lotto teaming than to enforce it, imo.

If this was to happen, then how are you going to be able to realistically enforce that, there would be so many more complaints about users who asked someone to lotto team than if a rule was made saying that lotto teaming is now enforced; so lotto scamming is now bannable, so banning teaming would make a lot more work for staff than if it was enforced and implemented into the rules.

I would love to end it there due to the many reasons given already, but since you asked for more of a reason...

I can see too many issues with multiple people teaming.
I can see too many arguments over 'profit'.
What if I tell you I bought extra tickets? What happens if we agree to buy 20 tickets each and you buy 20 and I buy 30 and I give 20k to a friend to buy 20?
There are so many loopholes and workarounds that trying to enforce this would be madness. If players are trying to get out of it now, I can't imagine the gymnastics that would be attempted if rules were written to enforce it.
I just honestly think it would cause more arguments than it would solve.

You may have to learn the hard way on who to trust.

Disclosure: Personally, I don't understand the concept of teaming and why players do it, so my mindset is different. My -1 isn't worth as much as others, but there it is.

 

I don't like lotto. And I don't like teaming, especially if its to do with lotto.
