For anyone saying lotto tax should be higher. It's been proven that it negatively affects the lottery for months before stabilizing. And lowering the taxes doesn't actually increase participation. I used to keep track of lotto for like a year and a half and in that time the taxes were lowered for a couple of weeks, and at some point it was raised to what it is now. And lottery was at an all-time low for 2 months. (Before you ask.. I still have the lottery log from that time, but I lost the code that compiled it into a readable format. So I can't display the data. )

Don't touch the lottery taxes. It gets rid of like 1.1m a day. It's the biggest money dump we have, and any change negatively affects it.

 

Also about the math, using your example, there's a 100v100 so there's 200 tickets total. 200*.85=170 so you're not really adding up. You're forgetting that all tickets are taxed, not just yours.

 

If we are changing it, I would want it to be increased to 20%

And I doubt you'd (and everyone else as well) play 50% more (what would be how much more it'd take to get the same amount of money out of the economy) if we decreased the taxes to 10%.
