What exactly does /me do?

I'm going to go with a -1 for now. It seems kind of pointless and I see few people actually using it. Plus, I see it being used for things like "/me dumdum71 got a Legendary Kill" or "/me dumdum71 just bought 1000 tickets".

By default, a /me in global channel would look like this.
/me does things
* [G] kukelekuuk00 does things

I would like this, but I'm not entirely sure about the drawbacks, or even the current reason it's disabled.

I can't really call that abuse, as that's the point of /me. /me is this, /me does this

 

1. My bad, I don't completely understand the /me command.
2. People are not allowed to swear on this server. Does that mean it doesn't happen? No.
3. I know. I believe that is why you made the suggestion.

Anyways, if enough people would use it we should add it imo. I just don't see many people using it over shouts. I could be completely wrong though.

 

If it was a way to stand out from regular chat but still limited to the channels it would be interesting
Cheeper than shouts but also limited
Would have to make sure if someone did /me bought 100 tickets. Didn't look like a real purchase

I think it would be a good idea. I agree it should be less than a shout since the suggestion is it would only work in the channel it is put in. Just my opinion, but, I'm thinking $750 to avoid possible overuse. This would also benefit the economy by removing money from it.

 

If this were added, proper price point should be around $5000 per.

 

$5000? I doubt anyone would buy it. I think that a $500-$1000 range would be better. It would help bring more money out of the economy than $5000.

 

The point of shouts are so that it is costly to buy them. Therefore it should cost more if we are adding something quite similar to it. Remember, this is hardcore economy.
