Is it even possible to disable silk touch for axes? Would it work on all the silk axes out there that already exist?

If you can insta-break melons for slices, that is still pretty high $$/hour and the slices would have to be nerfed.

I never said anything about eff 10. The suggestion says that mswords can be traded in for an axe with the same stats.

Oh thought he ment trade for eff 10 but anyways what Im trying to say any eff over 5 will not do anything for your tool so you are not gonna make any more money if you use a eff 10.

Your idea doesn't help those people. They will go from having a million dollar tool (sword) to having a 20k tool (axe).

You can probably just try out a 1.8 snapshot and test it like jacob already did. He also provided a video in this very thread.

Or go to a minecraft wiki and look for 1.8 changes. It is likely in there.

I'm sure they will code someway to nerf it, if all else fails they'll nerf Mellon and pumpkins all together.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but a pumpkin axe has fortune 3 and you can't have silk and fortune together so to get a good melon axe u need to build one ._.

There is probably a way the server can make it so axes are disabled on melons. Like when you try to break a melon with an axe it says "you are unable to break this block with this tool" or somthing simmilar to that.

 

I don't see how this can be nerfed besides taking out silk for axes? The big fix for enchanting was to just take out enchantment tables lmao so I am curious to see what they do ^~^

 

personally all you guys should take the loss or try to get out of it, grow and adapt. The economy was pretty stale as is.

 

I believe the base enchants on a pumpkin axe are just eff 5 and unb 3. Fortune doesn't have any affect on pumpkins so it wouldn't need to be added. But you're right, fortune and st won't coexist in one tool.
