When it comes to users speaking different languages, as far as i'm aware, the mods are very lenient and attempt to break the language barrier as much as possible.

I remember as a previous staff member constantly arising the problem where a person that only understood one language other then English were talking in global chat, and we had no current Moderators online to communicate with them. In a numerous amount of these situations, I contacted someone that doesn't even play E.C.C, yet understands the language at hand to help translate to the helpless user so he/she would understand that we have rules against such, and to mean no offense. Or went onto IRC to find a Moderator offline to come on, and have a conversation with the user and explain the rules in their language through private messaging.

You aren't going to just get banned if you say Bonjour in a global channel lol, the Moderators aren't assholes, their going to do whatever it takes to solve the tough situation. If it comes to a point where there's no way of communicating with the user, then there's no other choice then to ban them, as we're a primarily English based server. The odds of having someone that completely doesn't understand any bit of english, come onto our server, is extremely unlikely, unless they just randomly selected a server and ignored the fact that the language of the title is completely alien to them. If you're just spamming/trolling in a different language, that's a whole different story, and obviously the Moderators aren't going to take their time with you.

Our current setup system works fine, and we very rarely run into problems with it, so it seems from a public standpoint.

 

You can suggest things but that doesn't give you the right to get so defensive when people disagree with your viewpoint. I'll say this one more time and then I'm unwatching this thread and ignoring you: this isn't needed, what we have works just fine, the problem isn't big enough to warrant a change in administrative procedures.
