Minecraft Name: AgentHare
Suggestion: To give warning or cautions to all members who say "Shouldn't this be in ... @moderator?"
Reason: This is basically minimodding to be saying it, it may be indirect.
Any Other Information: If users want to state their opinion on where a thread should go, I think it should be do only by forum conv. or report. Report feature needs to be used. I am saying this because minimodding is illegal and I personally think this is against the rules. It also annoys me. Let the mods do the job, nobody really wants you to say "Move it here!!". Finally, it is just simply irrelevant and could be done easily via report.

I'm torn on this particular suggestion. I have never considered a person who tags staff and says that as a mini mod. I have always felt they were helping staff. They aren't telling that person what to do, they are asking for staff opinion and thus getting the attention of staff. From there the staff member would make the decision of if it should or shouldn't be moved.
Yet, at the same time you bring up a good point. The report function would be good at getting staff attention without other players being aware. It would be a lil less offensive to the player supposedly accused of misusing the forum.
I feel that this is an issue that falls into the hands of our players. They are really the ones who decide how to bring these types of things to our attention. I think, overall, I would prefer players to use the "Report" function or to use the PM function on the forum.

I see AgentHare's point somewhat from a personal standpoint. If my thread get's 'flagged' for a purpose to get moved or what not, I feel personally indicted, that I couldn't put the thread in the proper place.
Stepping back, I would really want my thread to be in the proper place so that it gets the proper attention, and gets serious responses. I go to the suggestion forum to see cool suggestions, when I'm interested in giving serious thought and response to them. If I see it in general, I probably wouldn't think much of it.
I think that any response of a less genuine nature would appear more hostile than, "hey doesn't this go in the suggestion thread" -- and that doesn't seem hostile in the least. It's perspective, and I think we all at times need to be able to take any form of criticism with the same grace as we should provide it. -
I usually poke a Staff member in-game PM or elsewhere if I see a thread misplaced. I don't like the Report feature as it already is, and to me it feels like it should be used more for warning Staff of a broken rule, rather than a thread movement. However, I also don't like the idea of people posting and saying "This should be in ____," because most of the time it is said rudely and in a mini-mod way.

My whole minimod reasoning behind this is that nobody who owns a thread wants some random person to post something on their thread about how it is in a wrong forum. Sometimes as moofin said, they don't say it in the nicest of ways. I would much rather have people keep opinions about something almost unrelated to the main idea of the thread to a personal account with the mods. All that really needs to happen is a mod saying "Moved General Discussion -> Help and Support." This is already pretty embarrassing enough. Nobody needs a nonmod posting that kind of stuff.
